Dr. Barbara Sturm, Super Anti-Aging Face Cream, 50ml

This Dr. Barbara Sturm Super Anti-Aging Face Cream doesn't contain the typical stronger actives that I usually associate with anti-aging skincare, but I've been very impressed with what it does for my normal but maturing, 50-year-old skin. I've been using it for almost three months, along with the Dr. Barbara Sturm Super Anti-Aging Serum, Super Anti-Aging Eye Cream and several of her other products in my skincare rotation. The cream is rich and very moisturizing, but it doesn't feel too heavy or greasy. It goes on very smoothly and seems to melt into my skin. It feels moisturizing enough on its own, but it pairs especially well with the matching serum. I've noticed that my skin looks healthy and glowing, as well as a bit firmer, and my fine lines look more plumped up. The formula focuses a lot on hydration and supporting the skin barrier. It includes short- and long-chain hyaluronic acid for hydration, along with phytolipids and several antioxidant and soothing ingredients. Purslane is one of Dr. Barbara Sturm's signature ingredients, and the formula also includes meadow knotweed extract and plankton exopolysaccharides, which are intended to help with radiance, firmness and elasticity. I also appreciate that there's no added fragrance. It's practically unscented, with just a bit of a clean, neutral smell. I've found it very gentle and haven't experienced any irritation. Many of Dr. Barbara Sturm's views on skincare align with mine, particularly her emphasis on keeping inflammation and irritation to a minimum rather than constantly attacking the skin with strong actives. I don't plan to give up stronger anti-aging ingredients entirely, but after using this cream, I do think there's a lot to be said for taking a gentler approach sometimes. It's been very gentle on my skin while still giving me noticeable results. The packaging has a quiet luxury look that suits my style very well. The jar is pure white glass with shiny silver lettering and a matching white plastic lid. The shiny silver box is a little fancier, but it still looks subtly upscale rather than blingy. I think either the box or the jar looks beautiful sitting on a countertop or vanity. I've also tried the Dr. Barbara Sturm Face Cream Rich, and I've been using that one overnight since it's heavier. I could easily use this one either day or night, so if I had to choose just one, this would be my pick, especially when paired with the matching serum and eye cream. Recommend.

Incredibly rich moisturizer that is perfect for those with dry, sensitive skin. I am in my late 30s and have combination skin that is mostly super dry in the wintertime, but I still use this cream every night and I think it is helping my skin. I'm using a few actives in my skincare routine, such as vitamin C, azelaic acid, retinal, and it has not exactly been too great on my skin barrier. I don't use these actives daily but I started to get some dry patches. I figured my skin barrier was suffering. This face cream is really nice, it feels like I'm applying a nourishing cream on my skin. It's not exactly lightweight but also not super heavy. I do feel like it requires a bit of massaging to fully absorb but it is easy to apply and I love that there is no fragrance. Perfect for sensitive skin! My skin feels super hydrated and less dry patches after using this. Although it is a bit pricey, I think it is one of the best face creams I've ever used!

I researched the ingredients and high quality safe. I am not sure if my skin is firmer, or less wrinkles I am 64 and all I can say is that my face feels really good, and the 1.69 Fl Oz has lasted a surprisingly long time. I am shocked, a little push of the pump and it goes all over easily. I put in a pump container to not waste. I don't notice any fragrance. I really like this moisturizer for how nice it feels on my skin, and am grateful to have reviewed. If your budget allows it is a definite yes!

I have always enjoyed maintaining separate morning and evening routines, but over the past year, budget limitations had reduced my skincare to the bare essentials. Being able to incorporate several luxury products made my daily routine feel much more indulgent. One of the products I was especially excited to try was the Super Anti-Aging Face Cream. The cream is presented in a beautifully designed, substantial jar that immediately reflects its luxury positioning. Because the formula is housed in an open jar, I prefer using a small cosmetic spatula to remove what I need rather than dipping my fingers directly into it. This feels more hygienic and also makes it easier to avoid taking out too much product. Although the cream can be applied during the day or at night, I have chosen to reserve it for my evening routine. That is simply when it fits best with the other products I use. If applied during the day, I would follow it with sunscreen because the cream itself is not a sun-protection product. The texture is rich and emollient but not nearly as heavy as I initially expected. It feels cool, concentrated, and almost whipped when first removed from the jar. Only a small amount is needed for my face and neck. I warm it briefly between my fingertips before applying it, which helps it spread smoothly and makes the texture feel even lighter. My skin absorbs it surprisingly quickly, and it does not leave behind a greasy film or oily residue. Once it has settled, the main thing I notice is how soft and comfortable my skin feels. My skin has become considerably drier and more sensitive over the past few years, and this cream has suited it exceptionally well. Those with dry, normal-to-dry, or mature skin will probably appreciate its richness most. Someone with oily skin may prefer a lighter moisturizer, although individual preferences will naturally vary. This cream is intended for skin showing visible or premature signs of aging rather than being restricted to one specific age group. Immediately after my first application, my skin looked more hydrated and plumped. After approximately six weeks of consistent use, those improvements have become more noticeable and longer lasting. My complexion retains moisture more effectively, feels smoother, and appears healthier and less fatigued. It also seems to have regained some of the softness and suppleness that had gradually diminished as my skin became drier. The formula contains a combination of hydrating, conditioning, and barrier-supporting ingredients, including hyaluronic acid, ceramides, vitamin E, glycerin, shea butter, and plant-derived oils and extracts. On my skin, the result has been deeply moisturizing without feeling aggressive or overwhelming. It has never caused irritation and often leaves my complexion feeling especially calm and balanced. One of the qualities I have appreciated throughout the Dr. Barbara Sturm collection is its emphasis on supporting skin gently rather than relying entirely on the more aggressive ingredients found in some anti-aging routines. There are also no added fragrances- which can be a source of irritation to sensitive skin. I still enjoy experimenting with other products, but this cream has shown me how much visible improvement can come simply from maintaining hydration and supporting the skin barrier consistently. This is undeniably a luxury purchase, and its cost is the only reason I would not automatically repurchase it. However, only a small amount is required with each application, so the jar should last considerably longer than a moisturizer that needs to be applied generously. If my financial circumstances allowed, I would gladly continue using this cream along with several other products from the brand. For anyone comfortable investing in premium skincare and looking for a rich but surprisingly lightweight moisturizer that addresses dryness, texture, elasticity, and visible signs of aging, the Super Anti-Aging Face Cream is an exceptional option. It feels genuinely luxurious, but more importantly, my skin looks and feels noticeably better after using it.

I’m giving this 3 stars, and honestly, that rating is mostly based on the price versus the results. At around $360, I expected pretty stellar results after using it consistently for a few months. To be fair, it is a very nice face cream. It does a great job nourishing and moisturizing my skin, and it leaves my skin feeling soft and looking really healthy. It also gives my skin a beautiful glow, which I do genuinely like. Where I’m disappointed is the anti-aging aspect. I haven’t seen it reverse or even noticeably diminish my lines and wrinkles, at least not to the degree I would expect from a product at this price point. I gave it plenty of time and regular use, so I wasn’t expecting overnight results, but I ultimately didn’t see the kind of transformation I was hoping for. The product itself is nice, but for me, the results simply don’t justify the price. I think you can get a very good moisturizer that nourishes the skin, improves hydration, and gives you that healthy glow for a fraction of the cost. If the price were significantly lower, I’d probably rate this much higher because I do enjoy the way it feels and how my skin looks after using it. But at $360, I’m expecting more than just well-moisturized, glowing skin.
