First Impressions of the Kodak Ektar H35N
This is such a fun little half-frame film camera, but if you’re brand new to film (like me), a few things were confusing at first — so here’s what I learned to save you some time: • The camera itself is fully mechanical — it doesn’t need batteries to shoot. The single AAA battery is only for the flash. • To avoid draining the battery, just make sure the flash switch is down (off) when you’re not using it. When the switch is up, the red light means the flash is charging. • After every shot, you must wind the film using the black wheel on top until it stops — otherwise you’ll either double-expose or the shutter won’t fire. • Loading film: tuck the film leader into the slot on the take-up spool (the empty black cylinder on the left), make sure the sprocket holes sit on the teeth, then advance until it catches. Once the counter hits 1, you’re ready to shoot. • The star filter switch is just a fun effect: • Down = normal photos (N). • Up = ✦ star filter on (lights turn into starbursts at night). I can’t wait to share the photos that come out of this little camera! I’ll update this review once I’ve developed my first roll.

Great entry level camera
This is my first film camera. Very useful when traveling and learning film. Easy to set up, use, and carry. I recently took it on a trip. Would recommend this camera if you are just getting into film photography.

Great beginner camera
I had my wedding photos taken on 35mm and I fell in love with the look and really wanted to learn on my own. I was so intimidated by film so I decided to start off with the Ektar so if I failed I hadn't wasted that much money. I just got the scans back from the first roll and I love this thing. I wish there were better instructions for how to load it but luckily there are lots of YouTube videos. Since I'm assuming other novices will buy this, don't open the back lol. I did (dumb rookie mistake) and ruined my last few frames but I had it open a long time and the rest were fine. So excited to keep shooting with this. Def worth the money to have them professionally developed but just what I was looking for.

Simple and fun
Great point and shoot reminiscent of the film cameras of my childhood with the added bonus of being a half frame - meaning you get 2x the photos out of a roll of film!! 10\10 for an easy to use fun film camera!

Me lo Cambian la cámara?
El contador de fotos no sirve ya e gastados varios disparos no se mueve

Cool camera but flash is non-functional
This camera would get a good review from me if it weren't for the fact that the flash doesn't actually function. The "flash ready" light works and I tried multiple batteries but nothing works. Hard to recommend a camera that advertises a major feature that doesn't even work. If you're reading this, find a different one.

Malfunctions but when it works it’s good
Lightweight, very convenient to use, perfect for quick point and shoot. However when getting back film there were blank portions so it didn’t capture the photos taken. This was very annoying and I had passed the time to return and try to get a different camera. So now I have to take multiple photos of something I really want to capture just in case it doesn’t take the photo.

Buena opción automática analógica
Me ha gustado mucho, es simple, liviana y funciona perfectamente. De momento no he revelado las fotos que he tomado ya que no he terminado el rollo, pero al menos el uso es muy cómodo.

The best film camera ever made
This is the best way to get a severe film addiction. As a seasoned film shooter and camera collector, I 100% recommend this camera to anyone. It punches way above its weight. As the saying goes: The best camera is the one that's with you. Small, light, glass lens, full auto, just shoot. This gives you 100% concentration on taking the photo, which will automatically increase your ability to view a scene. Have fun with this one. I gifted a bunch of these to friends of mine, who are alle obsessed with it ever since. One of the most underrated products in the last ten years in the film photography industry. One last note: You may get a copy that breaks, but come on, look at the price tag. It's ok. Send them back until you get a working one. My first copy still holds up after 2 years of heavy taking heavy beating.

Buena camara / falta luz
