FILLO's Cuban green sofrito beans are super tasty. They have an original home cooked/restraunt taste that I really dig. They put some time and care into these beans. They are tender, packed with flavor and very easy to incorporate into all types of dishes. You can also stuff your face on the fly and eat straight out of the bag if you want! The cuban green is easy on the palate, it's not spicy but has great depth with hints of garlic, and light hints of onion and cumin and I think this is where that cuban green comes into play. They puts some zing into black beans that's for sure, love this recipe they've put together. Canned beans from the grocery store do not taste good for the most part. Especially, the blacks. The bag really helps make for a more pleasant flavor and ease of use. I think cans ruin what little flavor most of your run of the mill black beans have to begin with. They simmer them in olive oil according to the recipe notes on the bag. I think that helps maintain the soft texture and really locks in the flavor and compliments the spices. I have been keeping Fillo's in the cupboard at my house and have since abandoned run of the mill beans from the grocery store. I think this is the future of beans, and Fillo's isn't overpowering the receipes so I think standalone they're great and of course if you want to go bannanas you can add your own twist if you want to spice them up and dress them up or down... Whenever we go on trips the bag makes for a nice portable treat while on the road (camping, airports, road trips) as all you need is a spoon. I have been mixing them with eggs, tacos, fajitas and often as a stand alone side dish. we love to mix with pork dishes as well. The sky is the limit. I've been doing nachos lately b/c I think they do great with tortilla chips, cheese, sour cream and pico. I hope they start carrying these in Texas grocery stores. I feel the packaged bean scene is lackluster down here and really excited to be able to have these original, home made in the USA beans delivered to my front door.

I know my beans and these beans are seasoned and cooked so when you heat them up they're just perfect and ready to eat. Great for a quick rice and beans meal. All the right herbs and spices already in there! Just add your favorite hot sauce and some sour cream or yogurt :)

I like the taste of the beans, I’m Cuban and I work a lot. Having these really helps out and I can still enjoy the food I love. It’s not like abuela’s(her dancing in the kitchen to some music with a good cup of wine, ain’t no plate beating that 10/10), but if you put a lil bit of “love” into em, it’s a solid 7.5-8/10. Standard I’d say solid 7/10. If you work a lot or have a busy schedule and want to spend less time in the kitchen, grab these. Everybody deserves a break once in a while. I haven’t been disappointed so far and I buy these things frequently and it’s been a real blessing.
