Exactly what I needed, not necessarily right for every situation.
Needed this to make sure night meds weren't at risk of overdosing for a loved one with some mild memory care challenges. This med box is great to make sure the meds are dispensed on time and nothing extra gets dosed accidently. The key locking lid is espically nice for making sure the lid doesn't come open except during loading. But it could probably be pried open if someone wanted to. So possibly not a good match if severe behavioral/memory issues are a concern. Monitoring and early doses can be dispensed via Bluetooth but cannot be done at distance, so if you need to monitor remotely this is not the right product for you. There is at least one that looks similar with wifi that might be a better fit (at twice the price, but being able to buy some peace of mind is nice). The alamm is loud enough that it cannot be ignored, so long as the person is within an average sized house without background noise. Any household fan on high can cover the sound, so it is a good idea to have a secondary alarm if hearing issues are a concern. Or if the person spends significant amounts of time away from where this disk is stored. The app is easy to use for anyone comfortable with basic smartphone apps. Not a good idea for people who are not comfortable with learning newer technolgies. Probably not for people who are technophobes or never figured out how to program their DVR. But it is much easier than a VCR so if you were ok with that, you should be ok with this. If you don't have a smartphone I think there is a way to manually set up the clock/alarms but I haven't done it. And then early doses cannot be dispensed either. So you are stuck on the schedule. So be prepared for some limited functionality if you go manual.

Terrific Device!
I’m 54 years old with memory issues and multiple medical problems. I have been increasingly absent minded when it comes to taking my medications. This initially took some figuring out as to how to set it up correctly. Don’t bother downloading the app for it because that just confused me more. After taking the time to get it set up properly, it is proving to be an EXCELLENT tool to aide me in medication compliance. I am an OT and wish I’d known about this a long time ago when I was working with my memory care families and patients. It does require higher level cognitive skills to set it up for the week so caregivers may have to do this for the primary user. I got the higher end device simply because I never know how many medications I’m going to be on. It’s pricey but in my opinion, well worth the cost.

The pill dispenser works great - the mobile app is full of bugs
As people have posted, the device itself works pretty well. The biggest issue I had was with the mobile app on an iPhone. I had to buy two units for my Dad -- one for his morning meds and one for the evening meds. The app supports multiple units, which is great, but it doesn't ACTUALLY WORK. You can only connect to ONE unit at a time, but there's a HUGE bug -- once you connect to unit #1, there is NO DISCONNECT button or link in order to connect to unit #2! None!! I had to: (1) force quit the app, and (2) turn Bluetooth off then on again. But even then, it will refuse to connect to Unit #2 -- it ALWAYS connects to the "most recent" connection, which is ALWAYS UNIT #1. In order to solve this problem I have to take Unit #2 about 1000 feet away from Unit #1 (outside the house) so it can't connect to Unit #1. Then it takes about three tries of resetting the app and Bluetooth to get it to finally connect to Unit #2. Then and ONLY THEN can I adjust the settings for Unit #2. And then if I have to connect back to Unit #1, I have to do the same thing -- take it about 1000 feet away so it breaks the current connection. And NO, you can't just pull the batteries from one unit, as that erases ALL THE programming from it, and you have to start all over again. There's no way to sit at the table and simply program BOTH units without this crazy procedure to separate the units. It would be really great if in the app you could just do "DISCONNECT BLE" and then connect to the other unit to program it. Then switch. But nope, the app is totally broken. The worse part is that if you try to connect to Unit #2, the app will APPEAR like it's connected, but it's pulling the data from Unit #1 which is still connected. You can make the app work, but it's VERY VERY BROKEN if you have more than one dispenser. PLEASE FIX!
