DELTA Pro Ultra Series 6144Wh Smart Extra Battery

The whole-house battery back-up system from Ecoflow was a great investment, especially with the 30% tax credit. I run the Smart Home Panel 2 in Emergency Power (EPS) mode, which provides an instantaneous fail-over for 12 of my circuits. Whenever we lose power, which can happen for short periods in FL, my important circuits never go down. I no longer need the small UPS in these rooms. I don't have solar or a generator (but could) - my main purpose for this system is peace of mind and hurricane season in FL. This replaced my original 100A subpanel, and installation took a full day. Not all the circuits to be backed up were on the original subpanel, so the electrician had to run wires between the sub and main to move the low priority circuits over to the main and the high priority ones to the smart panel. I used an electrician who had installed one previously - they charged $1900 and did a great job. There were other higher quotes. But their job stopped at installation; I had to use the app to update firmware and start up the system. It wasn't too difficult. The app is impressive and works well. It provides good visibility into power consumption and status on each circuit, on/off functions, and other programmatic controls. My only disappointment is that I cannot run it in EPS mode and also schedule fail-over tasks; the app indicates these functions are not compatible. Design suggestion: make the scheduled tasks able to turn off the EPS mode to conduct the fail-over and then turn it back on when it returns to main power. So far I've only had a few short power outages without any issue. No major outages yet, but I'm happy not to have to fuss with a generator when it does. If you hate generators (like me) and all that goes with them, you’ll love this solution.

I have the Delta pro ultra with three extra batteries, living off grid in a box truck and a custom engineered RV trailer. Located in Quartzsite, Arizon, Boon-dock living with (16) 250 W solar panels. I have a 7 ft.³ deep, freeze, refrigerator, a 12,000 BTU mini split (22 see2), Starlink, eight high-end night vision cameras, running 24 hours a day, as well as a Mac M4 studio computer operating at least eight hours a day. Thermostat is set at a cozy 72° during the day and 68 at night I found that it is most effective if you were located in extreme heat to have the batteries within the air-conditioned space. The heat produced by the batteries charging is minuscule if you have a mini split.

Great product. It has a clever modular design that’s easy to assemble and set up for use.

Bought this with 2 batteries for vanlife. Got it on sale and used prime card for more savings. Works as expected, runs my window AC, air fryer and everything else fine. The only issue is that charging from an EV charger never reaches 7200w. It only goes up to 6100w. An extra 1200w would be nice, thats 10% of extra charge (since i have 2 batteries) per hour. Update: Been a few months now so... 1. The charge controller makes a clicking sound when it detects power from solar panels, not loud or obnoxious but something to consider i guess? It clicks on/off in the mornings and evenings due to low solar irradiation. 2. The battery level indicator is only accurate for a few days. I think the batteries have to be charged to 100% once in a while to keep it accurate. I currently have it set to max discharge 5% and max charge 95%. The amount of power I use from an EV charger and the percent on the display is off significantly, so when I notice that, i just charge it to full. 3. The LCD display is constantly turning off/on when power is being drawn or stops being drawn. I wish there was a way to permanently turn it off since I live in a van (soon a truck camper 😬) and the bright as light is annoying af. 4. The standby power consumption is consistent with some youtubers measurements. I'm estimating it to be 5-10% per day. That is a big deal for vanlife but the 2 mppts, AC and EV charging makes up for it. My next camper will probably have 1600-2000w worth of panels. I currently have 1040w which would be fine if I didnt run AC or electric heat but I spoil myself. 5. While driving, if your panels become shaded temporarily, the input will go to 0w before going back to normal. If you're in shade too long, say under a lengthy tunnel or bridge or a row of trees, the charge controller won't start charging immediately after you're back in the sun. It takes several minutes, I haven't timed it. This sucks. That's all I can think of for now, hope it helps. Update 2: I just realized the inverter spits out a ton of heat while charging. In my truck camper now and I find that it heats up the entire space really quickly. This might not be the best product for van/camper/rv living since the AC has to fight all the heat this thing produces. May be in the winter I'll have a different opinion...? Update 3: I noticed when charging, the battery % jumps from the mid 50% up to 70% or so. Kinda weird how it can be so innaccurate, even after the update that supposedly fixed the problem of it not displaying the correct battery level. Sometimes I feel like the battery % that's displayed is totally off...seems like a serious flaw when trying to run this on a small solar setup. When the battery level that's displayed is too low and it hits your max discharge level, you won't be able to use it even if you suspect the system is wrong. I'm thinking about selling this thing and going back to building my own system. 🤷 Update 4: Let the system drain to about 4% then charged it fully. It only charged ~8 KWh to get to 100%. Which means about 3500-4000Wh was left, likely in the second battery. The voltage reading must be off so that's probably why it thinks there's only 4% left. Such a disappointment.

I have this paired with an ecoflow panel to provide backup power for my fridge, freezer and furnace during a power outage and it works perfectly. I bought 3 batteries for a total of 18KWh which will keep me online for 2 days. If you pair it with some solar panels, you can setup a cycle where it will recharge from the sun during the day and discharge at night. You can also plug a generator into the ecoflow panel as a backup if you dont have solar or the panels are snow covered. This solution is also half of the cost of a tesla powerwall with almost double the capacity. Plus you can easily expand your storage capacity at will just by plugging in more batteries. I paid 10k for the whole setup and got 3k back from the government rebate.

It's a great alternative to my gas generator. It powers my entire house. I'm glad I got it. It's come in very handy during our power outages.

I got the EF ECOFLOW Extra Battery for my DELTA Pro Ultra, and overall, I’m really happy with how smooth everything was—from delivery to setup. The packaging was solid and premium, which made unboxing feel good. Setting it up was super easy; it literally took just a few minutes to connect to my DELTA Pro Ultra inverter. It’s true plug-and-play—no complicated tools or settings needed. That’s a big win for someone like me who wants extra power without extra hassle. If you’re looking to scale your energy storage, this battery is definitely user-friendly once it’s in place. But here’s the thing—it’s heavy. Like, really heavy. I didn’t realize how much two people might be needed just to lift and stack it safely, especially as you add more units. I was surprised by how quickly the weight adds up. Once you go beyond four batteries stacked, the whole setup can start to feel top-heavy. ECOFLOW recommends wall anchors at that point, and after thinking about it, I totally get why. If the stack tips, we’re talking over 500 pounds crashing down. That’s not just dangerous for furniture—it could seriously hurt someone or damage flooring, especially if the surface isn’t perfectly level or solid. So while the tech is simple, you’ve got to plan your space carefully. Still, I can’t knock the performance. It gives me peace of mind knowing I’ve got serious backup power when I need it. It’s ideal for home backup, off-grid setups, or even heavy-duty job sites. As long as you respect the weight and install it safely, it’s a powerful, reliable upgrade. Just maybe keep it away from high-traffic areas and make sure your floor is strong enough to handle it.

Would like more option in the application, specifically more way to connect with 3rd party app. Especially home assistant. Also, would be nice to have a way to only use the connected batteries as a UPS mode only instead of 50% backup battery mode. Otherwise good quality and instructions!

I recently purchased the Delta Pro Ultra (DPU) and have been thoroughly impressed with its performance and versatility. I had already a Delta Max and a Delta 2, and they have been rock solid, but I moved recently in a new home where water come from a deep well. We had a few power failures which made us a bit wary about having water available for a long time, and while I have a large 9500w Westinghouse gas generator, its not easy and convenient to setup, especially for my partner. Because this house had already a secondary panel with a Generator plug, setup was a breeze. I simply bought a L14-30 extension to connect the DPU to the generator outlet, and that it! The DPU is connected all the time, and in case of power failure my partner only need to flip the interlock! We had to use it a few time already, and it was a breeze! An unexpected bonus; I can charge the DPU from the side Input/Output port at 240v while still having all my AC output on. There has been some conflicting reviews stating it was not possible, but the confusion come from the fact that the C10 outlet use for 120v can actually support 240v as well. Note that you need to buy the Generator Adaptor for the DPU to be able to do this. I have done this multiple time already, and Ecoflow support confirmed this is support as well. I also appreciate the clean layout of ports, with a pair of backup UPS port (20ms), and another pair with Online UPS function (0ms). Unfortunately, the 240v outlet is designed as backup UPS (20ms), but its fine. I was aware of this fact upon buying. I like the app a lot as well. Finally, when I bought it a day before the prime day special back in June, Ecoflow was kind enough to refund me cash the difference between the price paid and the price on sales. Pretty awesome. Now, it is expensive, but honestly I have zero regret. Hard to get so much functionality at that price. For me, the Delta Pro Ultra is an outstanding investment for anyone seeking reliable power for home backup. Note: I heard a lot of stories about Ecoflow customer support. I have been lucky so far on my side, but only had to deal with them for a few technical questions and a refund. Note however that my setup is quite simply, and I do not rely on Ecoflow's Smart Panel.

What a game changer. No more extension cords Hurray. Took 2 Electricians little over half day to install. Haven't had it test in real time (give me a month grrr avg one or two power outages a month here). Use to run a freezer, fridge, sump pump, and garage door as principle reason for the setup. Now have power to plugs around the house (lights mostly), microwave (same plug for kettle and grill). Now for the important stuff, haha. My war room 3 computers, 5 screens, two tablets 3 cells an echo 15 and echo 8, NAS, OTA, 56" tv with media center setup. They all are safe now, theory can run all over a day, selective (turn off non essential) as in last 16hr outage using extention cords showed over 5 days backup. Was very bare minium thought. I cook with alcohol, heat emergency room (War room) with a diesel heater (20 gals red farm fuel 7 days) bondocking in luxury. Connected to Ecoflow DELTA pro ultra with two batteries (more to come wink) for a total of 12kWh of power now. Will have solar charging (have to setup) and a propane generator. Of course more batteries. Yes $$$$ but we'll worth it Thank you Ecoflow for excellent products, quick delivery, answered my questions quickly person to person. Highly recommend Echoflow
