What a great little light!
I read the reviews on this little task light, positive and not-as-positive. It struck me that the reviewers that questioned the quality of the switch control and a few other points of the light, were either expecting too much for a lamp sold at this price level or apparently haven't purchased many modern appliances. Sure someone stated the lamp failed quickly after they first started using it, but looking over the number of positive reviews vs. that person's bad luck, I decided to order and find out for myself. I was looking for a very small lamp that could be placed on the end of my spare computer's desk, so I could see necessary details on the desk when there wasn't enough daylight to alleviate the shadows on the end of the desk, but more than enough light in the room to not want to turn on the overhead light in the room. Well, this little lamp has turned out to be perfect. It is the perfect size for my small, but serviceable computer desk. It has more than enough cord to reach the power strip that I run under the desk, but don't forget, it also can run on the voltage from a USB computer port if you don't want to use the little power brick (or can't!). The light provided by this lamp is also perfect for my needs, as you have two levels of brightness (intensity?) and three different colors (shades, K-spectrum) of light. This is all controlled by the aforementioned switch control; the one that another reviewer questioned it quality. Yes, the switch is all plastic (at least externally), but it has been working perfectly for me and is easy and intuitive to use. Plus, it is installed on the power cord near the lamp, making it convenient to control the lamp. I looped mine around the clamp that holds the lamp on the end of my desk, keeping it handy and right where I need it. The clamp is decent looking, color matched to the rest of the lamp (white in my case), and the "goose-neck" that is part of the lamp allows an almost infinite number of positions or placements, and the lamp stays where you place it. So, is this a high-quality, designer lamp, something someone would be proud to show-off? No. It's a well-made, extremely practical and useful appliance, within reasonable expectations. Do I expect it to last a long time? I have no idea. But it's simple and with any luck I think I can get a few years of useful life out of it, and it is solving a problem for me that I wanted to correct for along time. What more could you ask for considering the price these are going for? I highly recommend it for all kinds of uses that need spot lighting and as some reviewers noted, in a pinch it could also work as a reading light. Thanks for a great little lamp!

Easy to find the power switch in the dark
I've used a few different brands and styles of clip-on lights that I use for reading in bed, and this is by far the best light I've used so far.The clip is strong enough to hold the light but easy to squeeze open with one hand. The clip also holds perfectly when I move the headlamp around. The neck feels like soft rubber and is very easy to bend. Also, it can be bent all the way down until about 1 inch from the clip, and all the way up until about 1 inch from the headlamp, not just half of the goose neck like some other lamps.Even though it only has two brightness levels, I find it perfect for my uses of reading in bed and a dim light for when I need to get up in the middle of the night. To make it even brighter, I just point it up toward the ceiling for maximum reflection, and to make it even dimmer, I just point it down to the floor or right up against a non-reflective surface (like a blanket). The power is controlled by the flat switch and the mode is controlled by the push button. Both feel solid. I especially like the button and switch combo on the controller because I can feel it in the dark and know which is the power. I also like that I can turn it on and off with just one click and don't have to cycle through all the brightness levels or lighting modes. This is a good price on a really great light. I'll be buying more.If you find this review useful, please push the button below - it will encourage me to write more reviews!

blue LED in the light switch on the cord is super bright and inhibits falling asleep.
The lamp itself is really nice. The blue LED in the light switch on the cord is super bright and inhibits falling asleep. How about a light switch with NO LED in the switch that hangs over my head?

Nice light for my little 7 year old to study with
This light is a little smaller than we thought it would be but as it turns out it puts out plenty of light and has multiple switches for various light strengths. The smallness turns out to be a benefit for us. We wanted it for use at the kitchen but the clip doesn't open wide enough to clip to the granite counter top which is over 1" thick. It does sit nicely on its stand, however it can tip if the light neck is extended to far. I added a few of my daughters pretty magnets to the stand to give it a little weight and it fixed the tipping issue. We love it now because it is small for the kitchen area yet puts out plenty of light for studying. I highly recommend it as this could work on a desk, clipped to a bed or as we use it.

This is an excellent little lamp!
Among other things I am using it to take with me to hospitals and nursing homes which often have very inadequate lighting, but I use it at home too. Unlike some others I have the clamp and switch work very well, and this one has replaced those. I would have preferred that the switch and cord were the same color as the lamp and I believe one of the reasons I bought this was a depicted sideways corded transformer I wanted that was changed for another straight out one that I received. However, it is still a very good product and I'm pleased with it. The ability to insert a usb extension cord between the transformer and the switch cord can be very important in certain situations like hospital rooms where I attach the little lamp to the bedside tables. It's light, compact in it's box, handles table thicknesses to 1", and has a separate base, it can even clamp to a tablet stand if the stand is substantial.

Great Reading Light
My wife likes to read paperbacks in bed, and having a full bedside lamp was overkill. We were in the market for a smaller reading lamp, capable of warm light and low brightness, so that it wouldn't affect my sleep. This light does the job.Pros:USB power, and portable. This lamp can be run off the same USB Type A port as most cell phone power adapters, meaning it's very easy to power this on the go. The unit has both a clip to attach to a an object such as the edge of a desk, or a metal stand to allow it to sit on a table. It has been perfectly stable in both modes.Dimming light with warmth control. The unit has a power switch with 3 modes - off / low / high. It also has 3 warmth controls - cool (blue) / neutral / warm (yellow). For my usage, this lamp will mostly be in the low and yellow modes. It's plenty of light to read by, but dim enough that when I roll away from the light source I can sleep soundly. It's a good balance. In the bright mode, the light might be enough for a small office or drawing table.Directional. The light has a short hood, so it shines in a nearly 90-degree flood. That makes it directional enough to be a reading or desk lamp, but it floods sufficiently that it's not a spot light. In my application, I'd say I'd prefer a slightly tighter beam (closer to 45-degrees would be nice) but this works.Flexible. The neck is flexible, and the base seems to tolerate a wide range of movement without wobbling.Cons:I'd prefer if the hood came down a touch more. Having the light source so close to the edge of the hood means it's too easy to end up staring into the lamp directly when my wife is using it as a reading lamp. This is okay - the leaking edge of the light is dim enough that I sleep soundly when I roll over - but I would have preferred more light blocking.Overall:This is a nice little lamp. For night reading, travel, or even a small drawing desk this is perfect. It travels well, it's flexible, it has great modes. So far I haven't had any issues.

Dim setting was faulty
This product is the perfect size and function for my daughter's bedroom to read while in bed. The bright function was great and was easy to switch between the modes. However the dim setting on the switch was faulty and didn't work. I had to mess with it to get it to turn on but wouldn't stay on. Returning product for replacement.

Very sturdy grip and easily re-positionable.
This is a great lamp. The metal neck is quite an improvement over my previous lamp. The clampis strong and I am able to re-adjust without worrying that the clamp with loose grip. I use this lamp as extra light for my art. I am very pleased.
