They are all good but 3 is the weakness and where the grounded realism gets unrealistic
Love this trilogy, I dont know about the ones who don't like 2 and 3 as much as 1. Personally I started with 3 belive it or not I only knew about 2 because 3 started from the ending of 2. The domino's fell from there so I idk each to their own. Considering I hadn't seen the raid movies either all I really knew were classic like Bruce lee, jet Lee, donnie yen and Jackie Chan. Leaving out Americans and some classics. Grounded unique Kung fu/martial arts like muay thai/muay boran was rare for me matter of fact I might have only ever seen it lose in classic films. So yeah as crazy as 3 gets we all know tony jaa is legit and I know he ran on those elephants and shit but that crow dude was overboard. Anyway ong bak 1 is awsome I get the love for it but I Personally like 2 and the story leading to the end of 3 was a great story depicting the inner corruption of one's self. I liked the shit and im a completly nonspirtual atheist âš› idk maybe they didn't like ancient Thailand and like the street more.

I don't know how I managed to miss this guy...
Disclaimer: I used to go to the martial arts movies in Chinese with friends back in the 80s. I've been a fan since. Somehow I overlooked Tony Jaa.Tony Jaa is an extraordinary martial arts actor and these movies are great fun. The Ong Bak is contemporary, set in Thailand having to do with a stolen artifact. Ong Bak 2 and 3 are set about 700 years ago and range from charming and enchanting to horrifying in the various scenes. The second movie was also excellent but the third feels like an afterthought. It's well shot and the fight scenes are superb but the story feels like a blend of two different stories.Overall the trilogy contains some of the best MA choreography I've ever seen. I recommend it highly/

the 1st movie's quality isnt that much better than the dvd's quality despite being blu ray. i got this collection since it wasnt that much more expensive than only the 1st movie by itself

Short review of the discs, not the movies
The second and third movies in this trilogy look great on Blu-ray, the first one however sometimes looks terrible and other times looks ok, you might be better off getting the DVD of that one.

Great trilogy, fun action
This is a nice package which nicely completes the saga/trilogy, the fights are fresh and the style was unique at its time. The theme is also appealing with some nature sense in it. The camera work was innovative and somewhat refreshing to see. If you come from an Asian movie background then many of the things done here may seem familiar, but if you have not seen modern Asian fighting movies, then give a go. I would recommend this for those wanting a good fighting movie, if you liked this review please hit the button below.

Tony Jaa defies gravity
These movies are incredible! If you are a fan of Jackie Chan's original works, Bruce Li, Jet li films... then you will love the Ong Bak series.Tony Jaa is amazing, the first film will probably be your favorite of the three... and the films don't follow a sequential order and seem independent of each other for the typical movie goer. There are director and producer reviews out there who witnessed Tony Jaa film the first movie, and say he shot the entire street scene on one take. Watch it and youll be amazed. The guy does things no one would think possible.A must watch
