A little stiff to operate at first. Cuts heavy copper wire perfectly.
The cutters where a little stiff to operate straight out of the box, but after a few snips they needed minimal effort to close them. I cut through 4AWG (the black cable) as if it was butter; I didn't even feel any extra resistance while cutting. The 2AWG (red), was just as easy, but with a little resistance to start the cut. Overall, these worked great to cleanly cut the heavy gauge copper wire I use for my marine batteries. A heavy gauge wire stripper would be handy.

I purchased this set for installing a LiFePO battery into my class B motor home. Cutting the 2/0 cable was very easy with the long cutter. Nice, clean, no distortion cuts. The smaller set also worked well on small diameter cable. The pass by cutters do not distort the wire. Good value for the money.

Cuts SWA cable.
Was able to cut 16mm2 SWA three core cable with this. I tested it cutting a length of steel wire armoured, and although that stuff is always a challenge to lop, this tool did manage. So it does the job. Seems very tight at first but it needs to be to get the cutting edges close together.
