Where It All Started.
1982 seems like a lifetime ago but that is when this DVD of the first series of Cheers was released.Like many I followed Cheers through all the series and onwards with the excellent Frazier. But I came to see Cheers later around series 2.The 2020 clampdown and forced 'home imprisonment' means I have the time and money to invest in the series and see any of the episodes I had missed. Most having been repeated several times at different time slots and now on different channels. The series is excellent, well-acted, great characters and sublime slick scripts.BUT I really believe it was only in series two that the level up its already high standards up a couple of levels.Cheers is wonderful lovable seires and this is how it all began.

Where it all began
Set in a bar in Boston run by former baseball player Sam Malone, the start of this long running comedy series sees Sam hire new waitress Diane Chambers, a highly educated woman who is also a bit of a snob and seemingly doesn't fit in with the rest of the crowd at Cheers but the sparks soon fly between Sam and Diane. A shaky start and the show is a little dated now but this is still a fine, funny comedy series with great performances from a shockingly young looking Ted Danson and Shelley Long and the rest of the cast. The rest of the characters are Coach, Sam's bartender and former baseball coach who is nearly always confused, Carla, Sam's other waitress who seemingly hates Diane's and everyone else's for that matter's guts, and regular customers Cliff, a know it all or thinks he does mailman and accountant Norm. Though spin off series Frasier i felt was the better series this is still well worth a watch though Frasier himself is yet to appear.

Great condition, fast delivery, no problems.
Was very impressed with the quality of their used items in the past as well as the prompt efficient delivery service and items well packaged. Great to see the same standards maintained.

Bit dated now...
I think this is one of those series that gets better as it develops. This first series although OK, is obviously 'finding its feet.' I think the later series will be considerably more enjoyable.

cut slightly
This is good to have but the dialogue is slighty cut
