I chose this particular item because it included the type of drill bit that would be needed for installation. Even though I only had an old fashioned manual drill, the bit easily penetrated my fiberglass door but could not cut all the way through. It did at least make a tiny hole on the other side of the door, which I then used to aline the bit to drill through toward the first hole. If the drill bit was about a half inch longer it would be perfect. Once the hole was made, it was very simple to insert each half of the device and screw together. The lens gives a nice wide angle view of the outside. I don’t really see the need for an interior cover for the peep hole since it’s impossible to see through from the exterior side, but I suppose some people would like it. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase. It looks nice from both sides and seems well made. I feel much more secure now to see who’s at the door before opening.

Installation is very easy. All the tools needed are included, which is the peep hole, the drill bit, and an Alan Wrench to tighten the bit. Took about 15 mins. With friction from the bit, there will be smoke and fire if not careful. Be prepared to stop the bit so it can cool and not start anything more than smoke. Also, you may need to get drilled wood from between the teeth of the bit. Be careful not to push too hard to prevent a big hole on the other side. Just like drilling through any piece of wood. Once drilled, you just unscrew peep, then put correct side on each side of door and screw together. That simple. The field of view is very large. I can see both sides of my 3 car garage through the peep. Pros - Installation is very easy, took about 15 mins - Quality is high. Peep is heavy, so good metal was used - Drill bit is included, you don’t need any other tool to get this done - Field of view, I can see both sides of my 3-car garage - Appearance is professional. Just don’t push hard on drill and let bit do the work Cons - Bit will get hot, smoke, and cause start a fire

It fit the door great - came with a drill bit to use for the opening but the door we have was apparently too hard for that to work. We had other tools so it was fine. Install was easy and took just a couple minutes. I like that it has a little door that slides over the lens. It doesn’t have enough of a fish eye so the width of the view you see isn’t the best it could be, but you see enough. If they are right in front of the door there is no problem. The price was right!

Well constructed and easy to install with included drill bit. I did use a longer bit to pierce the front and back of the door at once and then used their hole bit to create a hole in the front and back, it isn't long enough to do it at once, but you probably shouldn't if you want a clean install.

This peephole was very easy to install and fit perfectly in the door. The 220‑degree view is surprisingly wide, and you can clearly see who is outside without distortion. The build quality feels solid since it’s made of brass, and it gives a nice, clean look from both sides of the door. It’s a simple upgrade that adds a bit more security and peace of mind at home.

We bought this 7 months ago and put off installing it. When my husband got around to it, it only took 5 minutes. It was easy and relative mess-free to install. We like the feature of the pivoting hole cover for added privacy. The brass finish looks classy and not cheap for the price point you’re spending.

Love it! Purchased this for our side door which didn’t have a peep hole. This kit came with the hole cutter needed for the install too!! Just provide your own drill and you’re good to go. I was able to get this done in just a few minutes. Feels well built and the view through the peep hole is very clear. The hole cover was an added bonus but I don’t think anyone would be able to look inside without either. Would definitely buy again if needed.

Installing this was easy. However it is nerve wracking drilling a hole in a brand new door. The drill bit supplied is surprisingly good quality and mounted in a monster of a drill, it tore through it like paper. I recommend putting the bit in the drill just deep enough to be held tight by the chuck. It's just long enough for the door I installed it in and even then I had to finish it off by drilling from the other side. All in all, a good product and a very reasonable price.
