Great take, great quality.
Great quality. Great design. After smoothing some sharp edges with sand paper, perfect.

Expensive but worth every penny. UPDATE: Replace grips with heat shrink. See photos.
Well I used to use a shovel for sand fleas when pompano fishing on the beach but now life is better and easier with this sand flea rake. At first I found some very similar rakes locally at half the price but when I compared the two the difference was worth every penny and got this one instead. It's durable strong light weight makes it easy to carry and use. Store the fleas right in the basket. This rake is all welded and screwed with very few rivets compared to cheaper models that use all rivets. Very glad I purchased. Made pompano fishing a breeze. UPDATE 12.31.2020 After using this rake for only about 6-8 trips to the beach the black foam cushions on the handles started to tear and come loose....first the end one came off completely and then the middle one did the same....and after less than 10 uses. So to fix the defect, I used some 1/8 inch paracord and hot glue and formed and fixed a diamond pattern on the rake handle in the two locations where I normally gripped the rake to collect sand fleas. After that I slid two pieces of 1-1/2 inch diameter dual wall 3x heat shrink tubing with adhesive lining over the paracord pattern and hit it with a heat gun until it was shrunk and stuck. Oh yeah, before I did anything I cleaned the handle areas with denatured alcohol so the hot glue and heat shrink would bond better and stronger. The end result was better than the original foam, better and stronger and stuck better. The paracord pattern in the heat shrink makes it easier to grip and hold onto the handle when raking even when wet. A good grip is now a great grip. The manufacturers should take note as this greatly improves the original product. My sand flea rake is now the best of the best. See photos. Another Update: Fished this this the other day with the new grips and I must admit they worked very good. I was able to hold the grip better when wet and the diamond pattern allowed my fingers to wrap and grip and hold firm. The only downside and this downside may just be due to the fact I had to do a lot of digging, way more than normal because of rough beach break, to find any fleas is the fact that I got a blister that I never seemed to get with the stock foam grips. So possible blisters with the heat shrink...Maybe heavy EVA like on fishing pole handles would work the best???

Made for dry sand, if you use it on wet sand it might bend it
I use this in Florida at the beach to try and find shark teeth I found a few and the scoop worked very well not super great quality but good for beach use wouldn't be good if you had to dig deep into wet sand though

I wanted it to be perfect.
And it's damn close. Very well made. But. There are 2 details that should be addressed. The spongy handles were good for one use. Then they slid off. I really can't see why they would be included except to make me wish they were there. There is no cap on the scoop/cage end of the pole. Small clams and sand fleas climb up /get forced up in there. Then you put it in your car and after a day or two, the smell of dead rotting sand flea is amazing.

got sand that needs cleaning?
I use this product to clean my chicken coop, which has a sand bottom... Yeah I know that is not really the purpose but it works incredibly well. It seems to be well made. Assembly was easy. It's light but sturdy. I like the ergonomic shape. I also like that I can leave it outside without worry. Its weatherproof!

Holy Grail
Itโs the Holy Grail of flea rakes. Also no need to go to the gym after using.

Perfect for cleaning out coops and sheep sheds!
I really did not want to pay this kind of money for a tool like this especially for what I needed it for...but, this efficiently cleans up those tiny sheep bean poopies up like no other. I quickly tired of using a conventional kitty litter scoop in a 12'x12' space...I mean, ain't nobody got time for that! I have sand in the sheep run in shelter so it makes it easy to scoop through and sift. The grates are just large enough to sift sand through quickly, but not too big as to allow the "beans" to fall through. It even picks up all the tiny pieces of hay waste as well. Within about 15 minutes of a thorough cleaning, the sheep shed is as clean as the day they arrived. Works well in the chicken run too. The metal is hefty and strong so I think (and hope) this should last a long time. Very happy with this purchase. I live near the beach too, so maybe I will try it out for its original intended use too!

Very nice sturdy rake
This is a very sturdy rake. It was easily put together. It is long enough to reach out a good ways. I used it to catch sand fleas and also to sift the sand for shark teeth and shells. It worked great for all of those things. The rubber handle at the top did slide off one time so beware that it could happen. I would buy this again!
