Excel for Beginners (Excel Essentials)

The author makes no assumptions about the readers experience level with a computer or laptop. True beginners can read the first chapter on basic vocabulary so the instructions make sense and more the experienced can jump into the clear illustrated instructions after.

Great book for beginners like me. However, the print is light. The only reason for 4 stars, instead of 5. I can read it, but the printing could be darker.

This is exactly what I needed to basically refresh my Excel skills. I haven’t used Excel since I left my job 14 years ago. This book is easy, well written and just enough info for the basics to refresh my memory!

Really simple and understanding. I really appreciate the simplicity and how easy it is to comprehend. I enjoyed learning this basic of excel.

Gave this to a young lady entering her Junior year in High School, wondering if she should take class offered in Microsoft Office .... She uses this book everyday in class and now believes she can do this ...!!!!

The book is very good, I really like it.It's very basic though even for me sometimes but it's really good to learn these things it covers.I need to use excel in my work so that's why I bought this one since me and computers not works well together.So I learn from this how to write 2 lines in same frame, how to sort by using filter.Also how to add, substrac etc columns together.Copy formula into columns etc.All just what I needed to learn and what made me frustrated before.Im very happy with the book!I never give 5 stars as others seems to do all the time unless it's really, really good.This is very close to 5 stars for sure!If you know nothing or very little about excel I recommend this book.It certainly helped me and I will buy the next book in the series and also his "word for beginners".

Extremely helpful. I was able to put my checkbook in an excel sheet. The explanations were very clear and straightforward. The writing style was for absolute beginners.

If you have absolutely no knowledge of spreadsheet programs this is a great book to get you started. However it is very basic and it did help me make the transition from Lotus 1 2 3 to excel.
