Ventus W194 Weather Station Grey/Black

I bought this weather station about a week ago and was immediately disappointed with it. It looks very impressive on the photo, but plugging it into power immediately reveals that the display is hard to read. The text is a bright blue on a dark blue background, with a limited viewing angle. Placing it on a stand, slightly above eye level, made it impossible to see the contents of the display. Moving it down on the table, about a metre away from me, did improve readability but the dark blue/lighter blue colors makes it difficult to read at even that distance. The thermometers in both the base station and the external station, seem to be measuring 2 degrees centigrade too warm, compared to other thermomoters placed next to them. The base station also measures 0.5 degrees different from the external station, when placed next to each other. The weather station features information such as barometric pressure, UV levels, humidity, perspiration chance, wind direction, wind speed and a 3 day weather forecast. The station itself features only thermometer and barometric pressure measurements, the other information is retrieved through the wireless connector, that must be connected to your computer, where a program must be always running, to update these readings from an internet site. The internet readings are specified by setting a city to retrieve the information for. There is however no feature to find a town near you, so you must manually search through a list of hundreds of cities, trying to find a city close to you, by searching for it's name. Trying to find one of the nearest 10 larger cities, close to me, yielded no result, forcing me to enter out capital to get a reading within 50km of me. Furthermore, to get the current weather (Based on barometric readings) you must manually figure out the barometric pressure at sea level, of the position where you are currently located. Without this information, the weather indicator will display incorrect information. Had I known about the limitations (Primarily the poor readability and incorrect temperature readings), I would not have bought this product.

Leider musste ich dieses an und für sich sehr schicke Stück Technik nach einem kurze Test wieder zurücksenden. Auf den ersten Blick ist es ein sehr feines Gerät. Was aus der Beschreibung gar nicht hervorgeht: Man muss keineswegs einen PC mit Internetverbindung in unmittelbarer Nähe der Station stehen haben. Es wird nämlich nicht die Station selbst mit dem PC verbunden, stattdessen liegt ein USB-Funksender bei, der an einen PC angeschlossen wird und der seinerseits, ähnlich wie der Außensensor, per Funk mit der Station Kontakt aufnimmt. Insofern kann man die eigentliche Station also aufstellen, wo man möchte. Das Akualisieren der Wetterdaten über die PC-Software klappt problemlos und auch automatisch. Der PC muss auch nicht dauernd laufen. Nach einem Reboot startet die Software automatisch und gleicht sich auch automatisch mit den Wetterdaten aus dem Netz und der Station ab. Leider hat das Gerät allerdings einen konstruktiven Mangel, der mit Sicherheit kein individuelles Problem meines Exemplares war: Wird die Station über das mitgelieferte Netzteil mit Strom versorgt, ist die Hintergrundbeleuchtung dauerhaft eingeschaltet (was ja in den meisten Fällen auch so gewünscht sein wird). Dummerweise steigt durch die Displaybeleuchtung offensichtlich die Temperatur im Inneren des Gehäuses an, so dass die angezeigte Innentemperatur dann permanent ca. 2 Grad über dem tatsächlichen Wert liegt. Sicherlich könnte man die 2 Grad dann einfach immer im Kopf abziehen, aber nicht, wenn man dermaßen viel Geld für eine Wetterstation ausgegeben hat. Andere Geräte mit dauerhaft aktivierbarer Hintergrundbeleuchtung bieten zur Umgehung dieses Problems teilweise eine Menüoption an, mit der sich ein Offsetwert einstellen lässt, der dann permanent von der gemessenen Temperatur abgezogen wird. Wenn der Hersteller dies auch bei diesem Gerät realisiert, dann ist die Station m.E. sehr gut. Im aktuellen Stadium muss ich dagegen leider davon abraten.

Ho chiuso con la marca Ventus. Belle "solo" da vedere ma come funzionalità e precisione lasciano veramente il tempo che trovano.L'illuminazione non è come quella mostrata nella foto. Per far si che il pc si colleghi alla base devi bestemmiare in turco. Volete un consiglio.....se siete appassionati rimanete su La Crosse oppure Oregon, anche se l'assistenza di quest'ultima lascia molto a desiderare.

Tiene un acabado bonito, la predicción es fiable, la pantalla muy bonita. Quizá el mayor fallo sea el uso de tanta pila. El transmisor externo no queda otra, la pantalla puedes tenerla enchufada, por supuesto (de hecho yo la tengo), pero el transmisor que envía datos desde el PC, necesita 3 pilas AAA; inverosímil, debido a que ya está conectado al usb del PC... Con Windows 8 (supongo que 7 también) tienes que usar el programa descargado de su web, en modo compatibilidad con Windows Vista y va perfecto.

Consegna veloce,prodotto valido anche perchè si collega alle stazioni regionali, anche la linea è bellissima,come lo desideravo,lo consiglio per se o per un regalo

NO HE SABIDO PONER EN FUNNCIONAMIENTO LA ESTACIÓN METEOROLÓGICA PORQUE NO TIENE LAS INSTRUCCIONES EN CASTELLANO, POR FAVOR, NO PODRÍAN ENVIÁRMELAS EN CASTELLANO?.
