20mm f2.8 FE for Sony, AF 20mm f/2.8 FE Lens for Sony E

I am super pleased with this little work horse of a lens. I was skeptical about Viltrox as a brand, because when I started in photography, they were known for cheap accessories. Thankfully, this lens has changed my perspective. It is light, compact, and easy to throw in a backpack just in case you need it. I bought the lens to two purposes: 1. To get wide landscape shots. 2. To have a solid wide angle for my podcast. It has delivered on both of those requirements. I don’t expect to get a lot of bokeh out of it given that it’s an affordable wide angle, but I have been pleasantly surprised by its sharpness. 20mm is a sweet spot where you can fit a lot in the frame without getting that fish-eye warping look. I can comfortably recommend this to anyone looking for a solid wide angle at a great price.

I am extremely pleased with this adorable lens! It will properly fit any Sony E mount with no issues. Given the low apeture it performs beautifully under low light conditions with almost not image noise, even when filming, not to mention the beautiful background blur it produces is very unique...I like it, a lot! It is light weight and very well built. I have one little con, and that's the fact it doesn't have a manual/auto focus switch. Not a deal breaker, just a small pain. Obviously the price is awesome and VERY affordable. Well done Viltrox! 👏👏👏

For $200 this lens is; 1. Light, very casual to have on your camera 2. Not insanely sharp but better than you’d expect 3. The 2.8 aperture helps for low light conditions Cons: 1 where it falls short is its auto focus, which imo isn’t insanely great 2 corners come out soft so when taking group photos considering framing subject more in the mid frame or center, close up focus gives nice bokeh but far wide shots come out flatter 3. This lens does have distortion that can be fixed in post with profiles to add more light and give images less of a fisheye effect but something to consider you’ll probably be doing if frequently using this lens Overall for this price point, all the hassle is bare able. Spent a month using this lens and it was a great learning experience, glad there’s affordable lens like this to help give people the chance to learn more hands on

This lens is very sharp, focuses quickly and reliably and is an incredible value at this price point!

Did its job good enough. No complaints would 100% purchase again. Takes very good pictures for real estate. Its not the absolute best but for the price it will take respectable videos and photo.

I couldn't be happier with this lens. I'm using it in a dedicated setup on a streaming camera (Sony A6400), with a teleprompter, and the lens is performing flawlessly. The image is clear and focus is quick, colors render very realistically, the front of the lens doesn't move when focus changes, so it works perfectly with the teleprompter, and vignetting is a non-issue. Don't hesitate to buy this lens. The price/value/performance ratio is excellent.

Absolutely love this lens. The focus takes getting use to but the quality of shots is worth every dime.

For the value you’re definitely going to get the bang for your buck. Video quality is nice definitely gonna need a nd filter in certain situations. Very easy to install and use. The Autofocus is nice could be better. Very lightweight and compact. Works like a charm with my a7iii. This lens is a wide angle lens I filmed a concert with this lens and I was able to capture everything in the frame. Pictures are nice with this lens. Video sharpness could be better but im not complaining it’s still exceptionally great for the price. 4/5 this is basically my new go to lens in my camera bag. I would love to see a mark 2 of this lens along with others as well. Definitely will keep an eye on this brand they’re going places!!!

Day1 - Amazing little piece of glass. It’s tiny so I don’t have to worry about weight when shooting or travelling and the f2.8 paired with the Sony’s great low light performance is an unmatched combo. 25 May "25 - I've used the lense for a better part of 16 Days and while its a good price, the autofucus is a diva. I've had many times where it will stay on AF-C but reviewing footage, its just constantly focus hunting and I've missed many key moments at events because of this. I love the lense, but its not what I thought it would be.

Per il prezzo pagato non si può chiedere di più! È una lente grandangolare valida. L'autofocus è dignitoso, certo non fulmineo, ma bisogna giudicarlo per la fascia di prezzo. Sono assolutamente soddisfatto.

La verdad que por lo que cuesta el objetivo, viene presentado y encajado mejor que muchos de más de mil euros. El objetivo en sí es pequeño, muy pequeño y ligero, se le ve muy bien construido aunque no está sellado. La nitidez a 2.8 en el centro es buena, en los extremos de la imagen deficiente, a F4 mejora mucho, y a f5.6 y f8 rinde excelente. Por el precio que tiene es un rendimiento más que digno más cuando en mi caso es una focal que sólo usaré cuando con mi 28-75 no tenga bastante angular. Totalmente recomendable.
