These tapestry needles are beautiful! Smooth, perfect shape, just right for weaving, and for a very good price.

I've seen some negative reviews for this claim that they are plastic. The white one that I received at least I am 100% sure is bone. It is much harder than any plastic I've ever felt, and it has a distinct natural translucence and look that you don't get from plastic. I am not so certain that the black one is real horn and not plastic but I tried biting it to make a dent and had to bite very hard to make even a slight dent so it is very hard all things considered and that isn't even evidence that it is plastic. Horn is made of keratin which is the same thing fingernails and claws are made of so it is possible to dent like this, same as fingernail but harder. The unpolished surfaces inside of the holes definitely look like horn pieces I've seen in the past, plastic tends to not sand/grind like that. I feel comfortable saying I'm 99% sure it is real horn. Good price at about $10 at time of purchase for the materials.

They are beautifully made, smooth, and of gorgeous materials. It is completely my fault that I did NOT pay attention to just how LONG they are. I probably cannot use either of them comfortably for nalbinding. Perhaps good to use for making nets or similar large-gapped items? I probably will use them for loading the weft on my tapestry loom, though. They were packaged safely and well, and arrived quickly. Overall, I'm very happy!

I love these and find them very useful for small loom weaving, the black one is the perfect size for my 12 inch Savina expandable loom; also not as fragile as I thought they would be, which works very well for me

I crochet, and have a favored afghan pattern that combines crochet with a type of weaving - these work great for that purpose. The holes are large enough to accommodate 2 strands of yarn (worsted weight). Even if each “eye” weren’t large enough, there’re 2 eyes per needle, so they could still hold 2 strands of a larger weight yarn. The needles themselves are of a nice size - which makes handling them easier during the weaving process - as apposed to a typical yarn needle. One “needle” did arrive bent, or curved - but the instructions do warn that this may happen, and gives instructions on how to correct it with boiling water. Overall? - I’m very happy with this purchase. I receive no compensation or incentives for any reviews I write.

Exceptional Quality and Craftsmanship. Made by disabled individuals in Vietnam Ñam. Quality FAR superior to anything from China. I started shopping Savina handmade hardwood sewing and weaving tools after having to return many Chinese plywood knockoffs that had not even been sanded much less finished properly to make used tools. Savina tools are well sanded and smooth as well as lovingly finished and will grace my crafting space for MANY years to come. I will also be buying Savina tools for my grandchildren!

I absolutely love these! Thank you Savina for packaging both needles together. Both have been lovely to use and hold. The flexible horn, and the sturdy bone needle are a great combination together.

Beautiful handmade needles! Not sharp enough to poke you, but smooth enough to go through yarn without snags or separating yarn. You get two needles. One shorter and flatter. The other longer and more rounded. Both are amazing!! Overall perfection for the value!

The only thing was a slightly longer delivery time. Worth waiting for. They feel good in the hand

Quite beautiful and interesting, when you pick them up they have weight. I wasn't expecting that. Definitely will last a lifetime, they're worth it.
