Clover Moon

Review taken from my blog [...] Jacqueline Wilson was one of the authors who made my childhood and teenage years. Over the last few years I've not kept up with her releases at all. Clover Moon mainly grabbed my attention because we both have something in common, we use our imaginations to escape life. The book is also set in Victorian London which is a time in history that fascinates me immensely. There is a theme of abuse in this story, which back then was common, however this is my warning. If you are sensitive to things such a child abuse, or are feeling pretty sensitive to things at the moment, you may want to give it a miss. The start of the book is quite sad. That being said, I'm going to have to agree with some of the other reviewers on this. This is the best book JW has written in years, and is a must read.

Clover Moon is a story about a girl that has problems with her family and everything is wrong, very wrong. Now, I myself like these sort of books but you may not. I recommend you read it anyway and see how you fell then. Jaquline Wilson is an awfully talented lady and all her books that I've read have made me smile so you should read this book and search for other Jaquline Wilson books if you liked this one. Basically, I think you've got the message that you should read this book! :)

I loved Clover Moon - a little more than Rose Rivers! She is a sharp kid and the trouble she goes through is heart wrenching but it works out in the end. Wilson is, as always, a fantastic writer.

I loved the book but,it had missing punctuation which I know that Jacqueline does not miss.The words were not as good as when I read it on paper not on kindle so...WHY DOES KINDLE HAVE TO SPOIL IT FOR ME!? Anyways that was complaint about kindle changeing things,This is good stuff talk on how the book was.This book was suburb ... I don't know how to tell you because the book is just awsome all the way through I finshed reading it tonight in my house at 10.40pm rounded. I loved it all the way through I didn't like the way it ended though and I especially DIDN'T like Mildred no... I HATE MILDRED who slaps their 11 year old daughter? Even in Victorian times (the story is set in Victorian times) thats harsh . Apsolute turn of the century! Once I had read this book I thought I knew everything about the victorian times. When you start reading you step through the book and into the story, once you start reading this book it's almost impossible to put down. The story is all about a young girl called Clover Moon who lives in a run down shelter in a family of eight.She lives with her father and horrid step-mother ( as her mother died when she was very small) and her various brothers and sisters with another on the way. When Clovers dear sister dies she feels that her home ment no longer anything to her and ran away. Will Clover ever be able to find happiness?

It took FOREVER for me to persuade my Mum to buy this book but guys it's worth it. This book is so interesting I finished in 3 days. Don't wait to buy this book. So interesting in the beginning, so sad at the end.

My 10yr old loved this book. She asked for all the hetty feathers series after this. I was looking for a child's book with an historical fiction theme and this was perfect.

I loved this book soooo much. Its so emotional and sad, I cried several times. I really enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait till Rose Rivers (the sequal) comes out!!!! :) ;) :)

Bought this book as request for my daughter to add to her Jacqueline Wilson collection. In terms of story pros and cons of the book, it would be unfair for me to say anything as I didn't read it. But if it kept my daughter entertained and imaginations broadened, it is enough for me to give a positive review!

I really liked how Clovers character was similar to Hetty's and it was relating to different stories What I thought that could have changed was a proper ending of the story like what happened to Clover afterwards, did she meet the nurse and what happened to Mildred too. However overall it was a pleasure to read this as I really enjoyed reading it.

I loved Miss Smith's home for destitute girls and had a good time with Jane and Clover. I had a small cry for Clover when Megs and Bryan died from the Scarlett fever. :-(
