How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days [Blu-ray]

Great film, good acting, very romantic.

I normally avoid US humour like the plague but this was an enjoyable distraction ... don't expect a deeply meaningful plot: there isn't one and the outcome is entirely predictable!

One of my favourite films. I can watch it over and over again without tiring of it. Acting from both Kate and Matthew is amazing throughout. Definitely a must-see film if you like a girly movie (that perhaps even some guys might appreciate aswell), a good laugh and a nice ending. I love it. There's a nice amount of romance in it without it being too "Slushy" and I do like comedy in movies too. The DVD has a director's commenatry on it, also worth a watch, especially if you like behind-the-scenes knowledge. Very interesting :)

Great film and dvd exactly as described, no issues

This is a good film, but I found parts of it strangely unenjoyable. Kate Hudson (Andie) plays a writer for a woman's magazine who sets out to date a man then do as many things as she can to get him to dump her. This is so she can then write an article entitled "how to lose a guy in 10 day." By chance, Matthew McConaughey (Ben) makes a bet that in only 10 days he can make any woman fall in love with him and then bring her to a party for the launch of a diamond advertising campaign. If Ben can do this he gets to lead the advertising campaign. It is Ben's advertising rivals who choose Andie for him to try and make her love him. Both play their parts well but there is so much negativity in the relationship from Andie and so much of Ben being treated like a doormat and putting up with it, that it became unenjoyable for me. The joke wore thin in other words and that was the films flaw for me. Of course it improves when both actually do start to fall in love with each other when visiting Ben's family, who are genuinely loving and all of which suffer from terets! There are some well acted tender moments when love is realised and they both stop their deception, but they are locked on a collision course for destruction because the truth must come out! It ends thankfully well, like most romantic films do, but no need for the tissues, just a sigh of relief! It is a good film well worth the watch but only 4 stars.

Saw this film years ago and decided to get my 15 year old daughter some "chick flick" films for Christmas, this one included. She really liked it and I have since watched it with her and it is just a nice silly romantic comedy with a few good laughs :)

Joyeuse comédie, sur fond de paris fous ou stupides. Parfois un plan bien huilé ne se déroule pas comme prévu, voir obtient un résultat à l'opposé de ce qui était prévu. La loi de Murphy dans toute sa splendeur. Un film à voir absolument.
