Many new laptops (Evolve, as example) are designed for 12vdc (rather than the older 18vdc designs which allows easier charging in cars, boats, RVs, solar,… As an active sailor, RVer, camper and amateur radio operator I am often in only 12v power environments. This jumper cord fits the Evolve laptop and allows me to charge from so many options when out in nature. (By the was the Evolve laptop is only a little over $100 and comes with full Microsoft software/WiFi and does everything my much more expensive laptop does (but I’m not a gamer).

Bought this for my cheap little 12v laptop, that I plan on using for remote Ham radio operation. I installed Anderson Power Poles on the pigtail and It should be able to charge from my solar panels or from my operating battery.

I use this connector to run my Evolve III laptop in the field off a battery for ham radio. Wires are very tiny, and will require soldering to use power pole connectors. Time will tell how long it holds up.

Installed Anderson PowerPoles on this cable and have it in the go-bag with the Evolve III Laptop for in the field charging at Field Day/POTA/SOTA.

First, this thing is incredibly cheap and isn't likely to hand up to even a hint of abuse, it is very cheaply made. I purchased this to put powerpoles on it so I could run my EVOLVE III Maestro E Book off of my batteries for amateur radio deployments and it works fine for that with the one exception that the barrel is very picky on what orientation it wants to charge the laptop while the OEM power brick has zero issues.
