I have bought other tongs before these. Have to say these are my favorite. They are very well made. They are longer than ones bought before. They are easy to grip and hold what you are doing very firmly with ease. Be ordering another same set probably by end of week to set them for different thickness of materials

My dad was the village blacksmith in our little village in Norfolk, England. I grew up apprenticing with hundreds of pairs of old tongs hanging from the brick forge, but we only used a few favorite pairs. Now I’m old, haven’t smithed in years, but I want to get back into it. I built a basic forge and got a cheap anvil, but I needed some starter tongs. I’ve got to say - these are not bad at all. I’m seriously impressed with the build, straightness and rigidity of these, and they are the styles you’ll need to get started. I’m so incredibly happy I chose to buy these tongs - they really feel like the ones I used so many years ago with my dad - minus the rust.

Great tongs, I started using them the minute I opened them. Enjoying the grip they provide.

The handles on these are plenty long enough to keep my hands away from the heat without being so long they get in the way. The cross V's in the front of the tongs make it so I can pick up items multiple ways. Also works great for laying down my fire brick I place infront of my forge. For a fairly cheap blacksmith tongs these have quickly become a go to for me. The only downside I have for these is there is a little bit of wiggle in the rivet that has seized up on me once or twice. One good smack or a dunk in some oil and thats not a problem any more though.

Better quality than most new tongs. It's hard to beat antique tongs, but these are pretty decent.

They work but you definitely get what you pay for.

Tools are as described. Seem to be a good quality, heavy duty set. They should work just fine for beginning forging and metal working.

*EDIT* removed 3 stars. USED 3 Times, not fit for purpose. Anything more than GENTLY picking up a piece results in the jaws bending. Today, less than an hour and I've had to re-bend the jaws after every 2-3 hammer strikes. Don't bother buying these. Spend the money on a single better quality tool. Cheap. But don't expect quality. Edges sharp (fixed with file), all rivets extremely loose with alot of flex (easy to fix, hammer to preference), jaws and grooves out of line (reshaped with hammer and vice), Z + wolfjaw would not close fully (reshaped in vice) Good if you have some patience and don't mind fixing small issues
