Nice pan; bad packaging
This is a decent-quality cast-iron pan. I got it because I moved to a house with a ceramic cooktop, and the cast-iron pans I had have a rough texture that I was afraid would scratch my stove-top. This pan has an enamalled coating on the outside, so the surface that will come in contact with my stove is much smoother and less abrasive than my standard cast-iron pans. I got the blue enamel color (because it was cheapest!), and it looks o.k. My only complaint is the packaging, which was ridiculously inadequate. It was shipped in a regular box -- like a box it would come in if you bought it at a store, etc., i.e. a flimsy, non-corregated box. Not only was the box thin & flimsy, it wasn't even taped up, and the handle had actually punched a hole in one side and was hanging out of the box. So between the hole on the one end and the non-sealed open flap on the other, I was concerned that the pan had already been dropped, but I didn't see any marks or damage, so I guess I'll keep it. There were no care instructions with the pan (unless they were in the box, in which case I'm sure they dropped out and are long gone), just some badly translated instructions on the outside of the box, which basically made no sense. All-in-all, a good buy for the money, but the packaging definitely needs some improvement!

Love this smooth surface!
I have been using this pretty much on a daily basis and it cleans up so nicely. Love the large size -especially when cooking for gatherings or meal prep. The enameled surface on the bottom and handle makes it easier to clean up. What I love about this the most is the smooth surface— hard to find any more— most cast-irons sold now are textured. I also appreciate that I can sear and then pop in the oven to finish off! Every dish I make in this cast-iron so far comes out so delectable! For easy clean up: while still hot, wipe surface with paper towel to remove any remnants of food, for stuck on food-shake some kosher salt in the pan (the coarseness makes a great cleaning agent), wet bristles of a good scrub brush and scrub the salt around to remove any debris. Set pan back on the burner, wipe surface with paper towel, turn burner on, allow surface to dry completely, apply a small amount of avocado, canola, or olive oil to surface and spread around to coat a light/thin layer, let the heat penetrate the pan until you see a few streaks of smoke, turn burner off let cool! I’ve attached a couple pics of the most recent culinary divinities I made 🫶
