If I expand to 8 cameras, how is the video displayed? Eight images on one monitor, or could you have 4 images on each of two monitors?

Thank you for your question. :)
The model you are asking is only with 4 channels. If you need 8 channels expandable, please choose our other model B077SCZ5TL or B077S2F16V. After you add up to 8 cameras, you can choose to show 1, 4 or 8 cameras display on the built-in monitor, or you can show them in other extra bigger size monitor by connecting the recorder's HDMI port in these two expandable models.

When you say "built in wifi" would it still need to go through my home wifi system?...My system at home is very poor (10mbps)

Hi Victor,
Thank you for your question.
The "built-in wifi" means the wifi in the NVR and the camera, the camera image is transmitted to the NVR through the "built-in wifi" without any video cable between them.

The NVR system is connected to the router via a network cable, not via WiFi,  you can remote access via phone and pc.

Your home 10mbps wifi system will not affect the effect of your live view in your monitor.
