This Book is a Unique Category by its own - Must have and Highly Recommended
This academic work stands out as it pushes the boundaries of our comprehension of computational and algorithm-aided design tools, particularly in facilitating constructive comparisons and the translation of tools between the two most prominent platforms in visual scripting (Dynamo and Grasshopper). From the very first chapter, it becomes apparent that the authors have a profound expertise in the subject matter. Their ability to clarify complex concepts is praiseworthy. These remarkable attributes make the book accessible and valuable for experts, students, and enthusiasts alike, eager to learn and develop their computational design skills and visual scripting skills within Dynamo and Grasshopper. The book's primary strength lies in its thorough exploration of both fundamental and cutting-edge subjects within visual scripting. It is a comprehensive guide to understanding various algorithmic design approaches in Dynamo and Grasshopper, effectively functioning as a comparative analytical tool. This unique feature sets this book apart as the first of its kind to explain these tools in such a manner.

great book to read
Grasshopper and Dynamo are similar in that they're visual scripting languages intended to help users automate manipulation of the parent software. Grasshopper works for Rhino. Dynamo works for Revit. That's probably the main reason to 'choose' one over the other.I have been playing with dynamo for two years now, recent updates to dynamo have improved the user experience, and the default library has a lot of nodes that were sorely missing from early builds. This is a great reference book for learning both Dynamo and Grasshopper and it is a must read if you are an architect trying to parametrically model in Revit or Rhino
