Zatarain's Pure Ground Gumbo File 1.25 oz

Can not find in store anywhere so I was so grateful I could find on here. It has everything in it to make gumbo easy without forgetting anything. It came fresh and delicious!

Excellent for gumbo, but I wish they still packaged it in the glass container.

Bought this to make some gumbo. Amazing flavor and gets the job done. Also smells like it's very fresh which is a plus.

This Gumbo Filé is pure, ground sassafras leaves. I say this because I purchased other Gumbo Filé from Amazon, and it was not pure sassafras. If you read the ingredient labels carefully, they're usually mixed with other herbs to give the appearance of better value. While this packaging is smaller, it came with the original safety seal, and it is fresh, high quality gumbo file. It is easy to use, adds to the thickness and silky texture of the Gumbo stew, in addition to the original roux.

Could not find locally. Added a unique flavor to my gumbo. I liked it and will continue to use it.

Zatarains is always good for Louisiana cooking items. Had trouble finding it locally.

I can’t find this in store anymore so I buy from Amazon. It is tasty and goes with any creole dish I make, not just gumbo.

This adds the flavor and thickening that I was looking for. So much better than corn starch for making an authentic creole gumbo.Not cheap, but impossible to find elsewhere.

This is one of the hardest spices to find for Gumbo and traditional Louisiana style seafood prep. Worth every red cent, my wife does not make gumbo all that often but she had a hard time finding this item, the difference is mind blowing when using this file in a nice large pot of gumbo.

A good file that keeps my Gumbo tasting good.
