Eaton EATON 5E 900 USB DIN G2 900VA 480W

The Eaton UPS 5E Gen2 900 USB DIN was very easy to set up, has already proved it's worth through several power outages. Some reviews mention that there is a strong smell of plastic - I didn't notice this. Other reviews complain about how loud the alarm is, when power is lost / during a power outage. It is loud BUT it is easily disabled if you have a PC ... simply download "Eaton UPS Companion" software from the Eaton site, connect the UPS to the PC via a USB cable and you can disable the alarm - along with other customisable features. All in all, very impressive - so much so, I've ordered the larger 1600 version for another task.

Funzionamento impeccabile ed assolutamente silenzioso. Ho un carico di circa 100 Watt tra PC e monitor che vengono sopportati per circa un ora (modello 900VA), direi che è una durata più che soddisfacente. Qualche difficoltà nel trovare il software gratuito di monitoraggio del UPS via cavo USB, il manuale dà solo un'indicazione generica ed il sito Eaton non indirizza facilmente alla pagina di download. Confermo l'odore iniziale già segnalato da altri utenti, è in effetti piuttosto fastidioso probabilmente dovuto agli oli di protezione utilizzati sui componenti interni che ovviamente si scaldano durante il funzionamento. Occorre fare un lungo "rodaggio" esterno tenendolo acceso giorno e notte, oppure sopportare il fastidio per diverso tempo ma per prudenza è meglio arieggiare l'ambiente finchè si avverte l'odore che comunque è destinato a sparire. Assegno 5 stelle perchè il prodotto mi sembra affidabile e di qualità soprattutto se lo rapportiamo al prezzo molto conveniente. Naturalmente nulla posso ancora dire sulla durata, i due anni della garanzia dovrebbero essere certi. Dopo oltre3 settimane di accensione continua l'odore era ancora fastidioso e persistenze, ho dovuto prendere la drastica decisione di aprirlo e raschiare la vernice trasparente presente sulle lamelle del trasformatore e pulirle con benzina rettificata. Finalmente sembra che l'odore sia andato via, lascio 5 stelle ma la vernice utilizzata dal produttore cinese è veramente imbarazzante non so se per questioni di risparmio.

I have an older version of this exact same product back home from a few years back. There is absolutely no improvement from the older version, but rather cost cutting measures have been implemented such as an unremovable cable for the power supply. It does stabilize the voltage and it does act as a backup power source when I need it do, but at this price point I wouldn't have expected to get the exact same product, just with inferior construction quality 5 years later.

Die Zielstellung, USV für den Schutz und die Notstromversorgung des Routers, der Telefonanlage, des WD myCloudEX2Ultra NAS und der Smarthome Anlage von Bosch. Nach einigen Tests mit dem interaktiven USB Anschluss und der Verbindung mit MAC OS, WIN 10 und der direkten Verbindung mit dem NAS kann ich nur bestätigen, dass das Gerät für diese Aufgabe geeignet ist. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist für mich ok. Ich habe sogar B Ware gekauft (Minze). Da ich einen Kabelanschluss habe, verzichtete ich auf einen Ethernet Schutz, zumal dieser zumeist nur bis 100 MBits gehen. Konfigurationen des Geräts über die Eaton Software gibt es nur für WIN. Apple Geräte zeigen den Anschluss und Status der USV sowie auch das NAS System eindeutig an. Den Hinweis zu Plastikgeruch bei Inbetriebnahme kann ich bestätigen. Allerdings war der nach einem Tag verflogen.
