Finally found it!
After hours of research and an embarrassing number of returns, this is the hub I’m keeping. I was on the hunt for what I thought was simple, an adapter with HDMI, 2 USB-C data ports, and at least one legacy USB port. To my amazement, most adapters take an “everything but the kitchen sink” approach and add an insane amount of ports making the hub huge. And to top it off, they almost all only have 1 USB-C port capable of data if at any. I also ran into lots of issue with the quality of the HDMI on other hubs. This hub checks all the boxes. It’s incredibly small, the HDMI supports full 4K 60hz HDR, and all 3 USB ports support super high speed data. The USB-C ports also fully support audio passthrough, so I can use wired headphones with a USB-C dongle! I tested everything on both my M2 MacBook Air and my iPhone 15 Pro and all features work perfectly on both. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for!

Uses it every day, never had an issue.
I actually have this velcro'd to the back of my monitor so when I use my laptop in my home office, I just plug in the one cable and everything is attached. I have every single port used and have not had any performance issues. I peed to pick one up for the laptop bag just in case when traveling.

It charges my Macbook at over 100W!
I've been looking for days for reviews, videos or tests of fast-charging a 2021+ Macbook Pro using a hub/dock — and there's been zero, none, nada. HyperDrive promised it'd work, but I'm happy to confirm it actually does. Apple's own info said you have to use their own 240W USB-C cable, but clearly that is not the case. I used a Cable Matters PD3.1 cable. I clocked 125W through the hub, and the AC charger itself is pulling 137W. I think it's reasonable that the hub is taking ~12W of the charger's power budget. After passing 50%, the charger now pulls 99W. (Apple Fast Charging only exceeds 100W up to 50% charge.) The most powerful charger I have is Apple's 140W charger. It would be good to test with a bigger one like Framework's, to see if it can give the HyperDrive hub all the power it needs and have the hub provide the full 140W to the Mac; but I'm happy with my setup now.

A capable bus powered USB4 hub that works well with my MacBook Pro
I had a different hub which worked for most things but some things simply did not power on. This one has fast USBA, USBC and SD which all work well for me. Its compact and easily fits in my computer bag pouch. I would give it 5 stars if the "tail" was detachable so I could use my own USB4 cable, but at least I will never be lacking for a cable although I do worry about longevity of the non-replaceable cable.

Video flicker problem
I used this with a MacBook Pro. Background: I bought this unit as I was satisfied with the previous generation I had for the last three years. My old unit now loses wired network connectivity after a few minutes of usage. The old unit also has a drawback that other software engineers say is common with non-Apple products in that if you attach an HDMI device, the laptop will no longer go to sleep even if the external TV/monitor is turned off. So if you want your laptop to go to sleep, you need to either detach the unit or unplug the HDMI device. As the unit was only $30-40, it worked good enough for the past three years. When the network port stopped working I decided to buy another one though it’s not $200 for the same functionality. Fine. Maybe they will have solved some of those issues. Current unit: Unfortunately it has the same problem in that the laptop will not go to sleep when there is an HDMI device plugged in. What’s new with this unit (and makes me like my old unit more than this one) when an HDMI device *isn't* plugged-in, my laptop display flickers every minute or so (I think the unit is polling to see if a TV is attached and makes the laptop screen flash. So it has a problem with its connection detection hardware.) I returned the first unit in case it was defective, however the replacement also performs the same way.

best in its category
An excellent modern multiport adapter, I think it's the best in the mobile category. Thunderbolt hubs that require a power supply and aren't mobile are better.

Do NOT waste your money
Do NOT waste your time or money on this product if you're using a MacBook Air M1 or M2. If you're looking for a multi-monitor setup, you're better off with a hub that uses Displaylink software (like Wavlink) or just opt for an ultrawide monitor to avoid the hassles of software and hub limitations. I was extremely disappointed, especially for the price. I used this with my 2024 MacBook Air M2 and two 27" 4K UHD LG monitors, and the experience was awful. It significantly downgraded the performance of both monitors with abysmally low refresh rates. The difference between the two refresh rates was distracting—one monitor was choppy at 30Hz, while the other struggled to maintain stability at 60Hz. To make things worse, every time I unlocked my computer, I had to unplug and replug everything just to get it to work again. The Instant View software causes macOS to think your screen is being recorded, which messes up features like screen sharing during video calls—completely impractical for a work setup. And on top of that, I couldn’t get both monitors to run at the same resolution. The monitor connected to the 30Hz port maxed out at 1080i, while the one on the 60Hz port was stuck at 4K, but macOS scaled it so small it was unreadable. None of these issues occur when I connect the monitors directly to my MacBook. Simply put, this product was a major letdown for anyone looking for a seamless multi-monitor experience on a Mac.

Meh
Doesn't do 2x HDMI 60hz, only 30hz on one of them. Disappointing. Rest of it works fine.

High quality dock - Must buy!
I shopped around a lot for selecting the best dock for an M1 MacBook Air and decided to try this Hyper dock 10-port dock. It works wonderfully well. It’s a high performance dock with all the connectivity you need on a Mac. Power passthrough works well, HDMI drives a 4K60Hz external monitor, SD Card performance is very good and Ethernet adapter works well too, all with only one cable attached. It’s a must buy !

Choppy and stuttering display
I've used Hyper products before and they were plug and play right out of the box. This one requires software to use, and I thought it would be reliable, but the display is always noticeably laggy. Next time I need an adapter, I'll steer clear.
