Was skeptical, but has worked well.
So I was going to go on a deployment, however, I did not want to spend nearly 1k on one of these things and wanted to get 5 G access, hence me buying this refurbished one. I thought, worst case was that I just returned it. It was annoying to set up, had to look up the manual and set it from nrbroadband to broadband, but once I did, I could swap my SIM card from my phone to this and get wifi consistently. Some thingremember mind that the speed relies heavily on your data plan and LOS to cell towers. If your phone can get a good signal, likely this will too. Currently, I have to keep mine near a window, and I consistently reach 100 Mbps. I've used it to download AND play games, even FPS games. This solution is only for non-permanent wifi necessities while you're moving around. For me, I would have had to buy barracks wifi to get internet or refill hotspot data again and again. This is a great solution for that. I would not use this in place of something like Starlink, cabled internet, or even wifi from buildings (unless bad, like where I am writing this.) This works best if you are: Traveling (1 week to a few months) Have a good Dataplan Need a consistent and reliable internet will be in places with good cell reception The device itself was fine, I had no issues with it. Though with these being refurbished, your results may vary.

Faulty item/assessed restock fee
Absolutely useless. I returned the item due to it not being functional. I tried everything including troubleshooting with my carrier and manufacturer and they both agreed item was defective. I returned it within the 90 day allowable return windows and the seller still decided to assess a restocking fee. DO NOT BUY this junk from this seller!!!

So far so good.
The device came in retail packaging. It powered up OK but the interface was in Spanish at first. It's confusing because you can't change the language in the menus. You have to go into the settings to Factory Reset. As it restarts it gives you the option to switch to English. The Samsung power adapter that was included works as expected. It switches from 5V to 9V. A regular 5V adapter might not work since it seems to need 9V for the high power mode (2.5G Ethernet, WiFi 6, and extended WiFi range). Some reviewers complain that it needs to restart when you change modes. This is normal for this type of device. It only takes about a minute to restart. Also, you need to take out the battery for the high power mode. I think it gets too hot in that mode and the battery can get damaged. I'm hoping this things lasts. I got the extended warranty just in case. Mine is labeled AT&T but hopefully it's unlocked since I want to use T Mobile. I'll find out tomorrow. The WiFi range isn't the best, but for such a tiny device it's not bad. I'll just be using it for my office and as a backup for livestreaming. The range would likely be better with antennas. I'm happy I was able to get this device for such a low price. Such a great deal. No other device has all the features of this one, but $999 is to much to pay for a new one.

Works great.
Bought a refurbished like new unit and received what appears to be a floor model. In excellent condition. I bought the additional antenna to help with reception. After a very lengthy time working with at&t to get it set up (originally could not get it to connect to internet so had to call their tech support) and running correctly (you must buy a separate data plan for this as of 5/2024) I was able to receive 5g signals. This unit will adjust to whatever the best signal is that can be received. We are using it on a seasonal lot in a trailer that sits just on the boundary or 4g and 5g so it shifts between the two. Its about as reliable as you can expect given our location. The closer you are to 5g tower the better speed and reliability you will have. We also find that (as expected) the more devices that connect to it, the more the service degrades. Overall for our location, needs, and expectations it's working about as expected. Wish the service there was a little better but it serves its purpose for the most part.

I wish I’d bought one sooner
As of day one, I’m thrilled with this device. Easily had it opened, turned on, and setup in under 5 minutes. My speed test showed a huge increase compared to using my 5G phone alone as a hotspot. Using this is like being connected to your WiFi at home. I couldn’t be happier, especially being able to save so much by purchasing this refurbished. The only thing I can’t speak to yet is the battery life. I’m going to start using this daily and I’ll update here if there is anything notable to mention regarding the battery. But to be honest, I’d still love this deal even if the battery didn’t work and it literally needed to be plugged in the whole time! lol As an additional note, I am using a T-Mobile SIM card. The unit says AT&T on the case, and the logo on the power-up screen says AT&T as well. When I inserted my t-mobile sim and powered it up, it automatically recognized it and required no setup whatsoever. It’s a truly unlocked device as it s advertised to be.

Defective Device & Zero Quality Control
I ordered a renewed NETGEAR Nighthawk M6 Pro expecting it to work properly, but the unit I received was unusable. With a new T‑Mobile SIM installed, it immediately showed MM#27 APN errors, would not connect, and couldn’t find any T‑Mobile signal. Choosing the T‑Mobile APN profile made no difference. I spent over 5 hours troubleshooting with both carriers. AT&T confirmed the device should be unlocked and even provided an unlock code, but there was no option anywhere in the interface to enter it. T‑Mobile checked the IMEI and said it still appeared locked on their side. After further checks, AT&T determined the device itself was faulty. For something sold as renewed, this showed clear signs of poor testing before being sent out. No customer should have to spend hours trying to get a basic setup to work. The unit I received was non‑functional and a complete waste of time. I am returning it and hope renewed products are checked more carefully.

It is less effective as a hotspot than my phone is.
The Good- 1. Easy to set up. 2. Easy to insert SIM card. 3. Looks like it is in excellent condition as a renewed item. 4. As a renewed item it is much cheaper than a new one. The Not so Good- 1. A/C adapter and cable did not work. They cannot charge the hotspot. So I tried the adapter and cable to charge my laptop. It could not charge my laptop either. The Bad- 1. This 5G hotspot is not nearly as effective as a hotspot as my Motorola Moto G 5G phone. I got the hotspot to relieve my phone of being the hotspot. I had hoped that a dedicated hotspot would also give a better and faster connection for my laptop when we have no reliable wifi available. I set up the hotspot, and then both my wife and I connected our MacBooks to the hotspot wifi. I was reading news and she was looking at Amazon. Browsing for her was like using dial up modem. Just sit and watch the circle go round and round. For me, the text of a news articles would download quickly but any graphics and pictures would not download before I was done reading the article. The SIM card we used is a T-Mobile 5G SIM card just like the one in my phone. I am not sure what to do at this point.
