Decent product
Had a metal solder sucker but somehow lost it. Used plastic ones that work but eventually break. This purchased one feels and works better than the plastic ones but cannot compare it to the old metal one I had as have not had in over 20 years.

Works when it wants to
It works well when it does, only issue is that the solder sometimes stick to the sides of the opening. There’s enough gap between the pin and the opening hole that the solder gets wedged between, making it hard to clear out. I would say 80% of the time is spent clearing it out so that it will function right

Excellence
Love this tool! I, too, had my doubts about the actual difference between spending a few extra dollars on this tool compared to the cheap, plastic de-soldering pumps that often are found with the beginner soldering kits, but the real life difference is a big deal if you are working on more than just a couple or so joints at a time -- imagine needing to remove 100+ solder joints from a mech keyboard! If I had stayed with the plastic de-soldering pump that I started out with, I would no longer have any nozzle left whatsoever! This product offers not only an aluminum nozzle, but also silicone tubing that you can optionally attach to the end of the nozzle to greatly slow the warping / melting of your nozzle end. Probably only necessary when doing a significant number of solder joints at a time. Makes clean up much faster if you can afford to buy additional silicone tubing as you can just toss the whole tube attachment bit when the solder mess inside builds up. (i hope that I explained that OK!)The mention of silicone tubing brings me to why I am writing this review -- this product offers no dimensions whatsoever of the silicone tube diameter that is included with this product. They give you 4 inches in length and no further information on where I can order more or most importantly, what the correct diameter size is for the silicone tube??Note that most resellers for silicone tubing will try and give you "ID" (inner dia) and "OD" (outer dia) in their product description in order to help you size it right.First attempt at getting right size has failed. The only measurement I feel confident whatsoever about is that the inner dia of 1/16 in. Outside diameter of 5/64 in.I appreciate any tips anybody may have for me regarding the inner and outer diameters of silicone tube.

Best I've used
Spring is perfect, anodizing holds is great and sheds splatter immediately. Spring doesn't bind. Gaskets have held up to a lot of abuse and very aggressive flux. Figured I'd get a few weeks from it like I do with most, but months in with daily have use and it's as good as day one. Release button is incredibly touchy making it hard not to accidentally release while trying to set it after a long night, but I'm really stretching to even find that as a complaint. If you need a solder sucker, you really can't do wrong here.
