GRETHER'S Blackcurrant Pastilles, Dry Mouth Products, 15 oz

I absolutely love these! They have the best flavor and soothe your throat and mouth so much better than any other thing I’ve tried. I bought some for my aunt and she enjoys them too.

I am a worship singer at church, and I literally sing most of my week. Of course sometimes my throat gets dry, this helps me so much to lubricate and moist my throat. I used it before and after I sing. You can either chew it or suck it until it melts. The flavor is good, nothing out of this world. As you can see I have finished one and almost two, and in the past i have finished more lol. I just take it if i ever feel raspiness in my voice and its a life saver!

I have a sore throat and stuffy nose. So when I’m sleeping, I sleep with my mouth because my nose is clogged off and when I wake up, I have a DRYYYY throat. I take 1 or 2 of these and it helps my mouth salivate more. It tastes really good too! I might get the lemon flavored one since I like that flavor the most. I need a refill of that. I polished off my really quickly.

I've been a professional singer, actress and voice teacher for 20 years. This is HANDS DOWN the best lozenge I've come across. The lozenge concept presents a unique set of problems that this product pretty much solves on its own. The Halls drops that contain menthol are useless if you have to perform while using them- I always caution my students that your throat will be so numb that you could hurt your vocal cords and never know it, so I never let them use any drop with methol unless they are at home resting. Halls Breezers and Ludens Cherry drops- these contain ordinary pectin and lubricate very well. But they always leave you a little "phlegmier" than before you started. I keep these in my studio for my kids, but they're far from ideal. I finally shelled out the money to get a 15oz tin of these and I am pleasantly surprised! A lozenge is not a substitute for resting, hydration and good voice care, but for minor throat irritations, cotton mouth that occurs with nerves, and phlegm that occurs naturally, these things are great! I think it's the food grade glycerin that lubricates but doesn't cause additional mucous. I'm also getting into voice over, and these help with mouth clicks and smacks resulting from dry mouth. It's just the right amount of lubrication and it really takes the worry out of performing if it's not a "great voice day." If there are about 175 of these in the 15oz tin, that comes to about a quarter per drop. Too expensive for me to keep in my studio (teenagers eat lozenges like candy just because they're there), but I will definitely tell my kids about them. I am going to make sure to stock up for myself! The shipping was actually pretty quick from London- 4 or 5 days, I think. Really great product!

Nice throat chews and highly recommended, but to be honest, I’ve never seen a “cause and effect” reason as to WHY they are so highly recommended by so many singers. Just ok.

Bought these for times when my throat needs a little help before I go on stage to sing. They are a little harder than a gummy, but they coat and sooth your throat very well! They are not very sweet, so don't expect that. Each one lasts a good amount of time and the flavor is a very mild and pleasant taste. Very good value for your money! I have bought these twice now.

These blackcurrant pastilles are just lovely - they have a very natural taste and feel very nice on the throat. Not too sweet, with a delicate fruit taste. They make a nice gift - most people don't know them, but they always enjoy them. If you buy the big tin, it usually comes with a cute little tin that holds a small supply (purse, car, whatever). Also, if you buy the big tin, it may help to store all the pastilles in a zipper plastic bag inside the tin, to preserve their soft, "gummy-like" texture. (They're delicious whether soft or harder, but the soft texture is especially nice. The tin comes wrapped in plastic that keeps the pastilles soft and moist until you open the tin.)

Very tasty but expensive

The delivery was quick but when opened the tin, the pastels were all stuck together and melted!

We love this from our childhood. Not sure if it’s at all effective, but it’s just so yummy.

They certainly taste of blackcurrant and are pleasant I bought them as a replacement as I cannot get olbas oil blackcurrant pastilles any longer.

Best treat for sore / irritated throats. Non-medicated by find them really soothing and actually have a delicious taste with NO menthol. Great for long flights, or winter dry air to supplement drinking lots of water!
