This brazing rod worked very well
I used a standard propane torch to braze the legs back onto a smokeless firepit that had broken from their spotwelds during shipping or at least some time before I received it. One end of three of the four legs had broken loose. While the propane heat caused burn marks on the unit, the welds were made secure and the feet now work well. The marks left by heating the body of the firepit were easily brushed out with 0000 steel wool. In retrospect, I could have prevented the heat discoloration by shielding the This product works very well for the use I intended. I recommend it for any use for which it was designed.

Do not purchase
Compared to benzomatic rods these are trash. They require too much heat and yes they ball up and do not stick to the metal. My aluminum was bubbling before they melted. I tried them side by side and the benzomatic rod was a puddle while these were pushing around the liquid but not melting. The package says they melt at the same temp but they do not.

Worked a little bit, but could have been thicker with more metal.

Major issues
Had issues with material bonding to aluminum alloy casting. Pre-heated, cleaned thoroughly, etc. Didn't work as intended.
