The description of this item is incorrect. It states that the lock can be adapted to fit doors from 27 to 40mm. The box the lock came in states it will fit doors between 35 and 50mm. I fitted the lock to a 35mm door and had trouble making it fit because the pieces when assembled together without a door in between have a gap wider than than 35mm. If the threads meshed well, it could get down to 35mm but the poor machining resulted in the pieces not fitting together well.I reduced the length of the spacers by cutting them, and there was just enough threaded section remaining to fasten the screws. The outer plates look functional but neat and presentable on the door.Unfortunately, the locking mechanism is unreliable. It locks and unlocks most of the time, but that really isn’t good enough. It is especially unreliable if there is an attempt to open the door while it is locked. This seems to jam the mechanism. A few lock/unlocks of the key gets it working again though.I bought this for an internal door where security isn’t a big issue, and the intent of the lock is really just for a child lock. I thought a cheap lock would be fine as I’m not worried about someone forcing it. I hadn’t considered a problem with the lock being generally unreliable though and now wish I had bought a better quality lock.
