And the quick-grip clamps actually only need one hand. **Q: I'm new to woodworking, so i apologize if this has already been answered - how wide do these clamps open? i was told to get ones that open 6"-8". tia!** A: These clamps only open to 1-1/2" and the next size up only goes to 2". Irwin also makes several sizes of bar clamps , 12", 24" and 26". I have a pair of the 24" clamps and they have worked well on my woodworking projects **Q: What are the yellow clamp bits made out of? We get high winds that were blowing the lids open. They are easy to install and take off with one hand. There are four cans. The one I used as a test before ordering turns out to have a different form factor. The 2" clamp fits the front perfectly. The other cans have an overhang as a lift handle. I can only attach the clamp on the side. I "borrowed" one from my husband's wood working equipment as a test. It fit my small hand and the test can perfectly.
