Update: I still like the quality of the cameras but they can be really frustrating in some regards. Like the fact that I’ve just changed internet providers for the second time since I’ve owned them. There is no way to update them to a new wireless system. All you can do is remove them from the app and reinstall them. Which wouldn’t be a huge deal if the removal process would allow them to be reinstalled. But it’s not that simple. You have to completely reset them. Again, not a huge thing if the reset button were not underneath the little door where the memory card goes. I’ve had three neck surgeries & have a bunch of hardware in my neck. So I either have to climb a ladder and take down the entire camera in order to reset it. Or, remove the tiny little screws from the door while standing on a ladder outside and reset the camera, then put the little door back on. It’s ridiculously difficult to do when they could just allow a reset from the app. And I have no idea if, once all this is completed, if I will be able to access the video that is already stored on the memory card from the previous wireless account. Which stinks because I think the installer of the new wireless broke a deck box in my back yard while installing the wiring at the back of my home. The only way to know for sure is to view the videos stored on the card. So if they broke it, I may not have any proof to get reimbursed for it. UGH!!!! I’ve had these cameras for a long time now and realized even though I’m very impressed with them, I never wrote a review. I think for the money, they are the best cameras you could buy. They are simple to set up and install. They will accept micro sd cards for storing video so you do not require a service or a monthly fee. I chose these because they will track movement. So I can see my dogs or my child wherever they go in my back yard. I set up two: one on one side of the back door and one on the other. The only stipulation is they require an outlet to plug them in. But I have a pool in back so I have outlets in several places for plugging in the pool robot and entertainment devices. I can view both cameras via an app on my phone or my Alexa Show device. The image quality is good and with both I can see my entire back yard. I highly recommend these cameras to anyone looking for some simple home security or just the security of being able to keep an eye on your pets or children in your yard.

This camera exceeded my expectations. The video quality is sharp, and the 360° view with motion tracking works really well. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the app is easy to use. It gives a great sense of security knowing everything is covered. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a reliable home security camera.

We purchased four (4) of the Tapo 2K outdoor cameras to cover all four corners outside of our beach house with an additional camera mounted inside. The 360 degree rotation allows full coverage with overlap between cameras. Since we're not there full time, these allow us to keep an eye on things when we're away. The automatic alerts have been accurate. I've had friends stop by to check on things and my phone alerted me when they arrived. I did test the "speaker" function" and it worked just fine. Thankfully, we haven't had to use it in a real-life scenario. There are several options for mounting. As expected, this part of installation took the most time. Once powered, each camera was visible in the Tapo app in less than a minute. I wasn't sure if 2K would be adequate (or not) but I'm pleased to say that 2K works perfectly well for our needs. We're not trying to look at lizards on the ground but I can zoom in close enough to see them. We just wanted to make sure that no unwanted human guests were nosing around.

I bought 3 of these a couple years ago to help monitor our family cabin since we live pretty far away. Overall, they work pretty well for the price, and I've been satisfied. Here's my take after 2 years of use: Pros: - live pan & tilt - 2-way audio - person detection works pretty well - detection zones - local storage (subscription not required to store & playback recordings) - wireless - indoor & outdoor (I've had mine outdoor for 2 years in the midwest and they still work great despite the hot summers & cold winters) Cons: - despite having fiber internet at the property, the 2-way audio is pretty patchy, but good enough, the video works well - I bought and setup 3 of these cameras, but only 2 of them will ever reliably stay connected to my wifi router. I don't have many devices and the building is relatively small so I'm not sure why only two of them will stay connected. All 3 will stay connected for a little while, but very consistently one of them will eventually disconnect and not be able to recover. Only power cycling and re-initializing it with the app can reconnect it, but every time one of the three will always eventually drop after a week or so. This is the biggest drawback and my reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Great little camera! I had to call customer service today because I recently moved and was having trouble reconnecting...my fault, but they figured it out quickly and were super nice about it. Never had any trouble out of the camera...does all kinds of remote actions, records (need a subscription though) and easy to mount and use. Would definitely recommend it for indoor or outdoor use. I use two of the same, one inside and one out. *only drawback is sometimes if you're trying to have it just track a person it will alert when it's a dog and track it instead. Also heavy rain sets off the alerts as well.

I have used other brands of security cameras before and this one was much easier to set up than the others. These camera's are great because you can move them around and see other views. It has great night vision and the picture quality in general is much clearer than other cameras I've seen. The camera does exactly what I wanted which is alert me when someone is coming up my drivway or is at my front door. It is sensitive so during snow storms it tends to alert a lot but that can be fixed by lowering the sensitivity. All in all a very good value and I would buy again.

This is one of my favorite cameras—I’ve had it for over 3 years (maybe even longer), and it has never given me any issues. It’s been very reliable the entire time. The apps (Tapo or Kasa) are amazing—super easy to use and simple to set up and program. The video quality is excellent, and setting up notifications is quick and straightforward. I also like the size of the camera—it’s not too big or too small, and it blends in well. Most people don’t even notice it at the entrance, which is a nice bonus. As long as it’s plugged in, there’s no need to worry about battery life at all. Overall, a great security camera that I would definitely recommend!

I have purchased four of these so far. Two of them didn't work as well as the other two, but for the ease and convenience, I would buy them again.

Malgré deux défauts que j’ai noté, je lui donne 5 étoile parce que j’aime vraiment beaucoup cette caméra. Premier défaut: Lorsque la tête articulée de la caméra poursuit un mouvement important quel détecte, il est possible d’être tout un coup distraite par autre chose de moins important comme un chat ou un chien etc. Mais cette fonction demeure intéressante malgré ce détail. Deuxième défaut: Depuis que je l’ai acheter j’ai profité de l’enregistrement gratuit sur Cloud pour 30 jours, un moment donné, la caméra à perdu le signal réseau durant plusieurs heures. Aucun moyen de communiquer avec la caméra et n’enregistrait aucune vidéo dans le Cloud, qui est très ennuyeux quand cela arrive. Par contre, à ma grande surprise, elle a enregistré quand même les événements durant le manque de réseau sur ma carte micro sd. D’où l’importance de cette carte même avec l’abonnement au cloud. J’ai remarqué que la caméra semble pas toujours enregistrer des événements dans le cloud, il ya des manques. Si vous avez un doute un moment donné, allez voir sur votre carte micro sd il y aura peut-être des vidéos cachées là . En général, cette caméra fait très bien le travail et amusante. L’application est bien faite et facile d’utilisation, Faut seulement apprendre et faire les ajustements selon nos besoins comme le choix de l’emplacement qui est crucial. Cette caméra a besoin d’une prise électrique pour fonctionner, ce qui peut être un obstacle majeur pour certain utilisateur. 2026-05-07 mise à jour: Ça fait quelques mois présentement, Je remarque que cette caméra a besoin d’être redémarré de temps à autres pour bien fonctionner ce qui est ennuyeux. Alors dans ce cas j’ai décidé d’opter pour un redémarrage automatique qui ce fait tous les jours à l’heure voulu. Peut-être qu’elle a besoin aussi d’un « reset » je n’ai pas encore essayé cette alternative. À part ça elle va relativement bien et toujours content de l’avoir en service.

Very good picture qaulity even in low light. IP connected so can be remotely viewed. Built qaulity and performance almost as good much more expensive brands.
