Chinchilla Dust (18 Pound)

Lixit makes great chinchilla water bottles, and their volcanic dust is no different. My chins love it and come out of their dust baths a different color :)

This is the best dust I’ve ever gotten my chin. His fur is SO soft two days later after using it for the first time. The “kaytee” brand they sell on here is terrible! Made my boys fur dusty and dirty feeling. His eyes got infected, they were all goopy, crusty and watery! He got to the point where he just wouldn’t go in it so I spent a couple weeks researching the best kind since my local petco wasn’t restocking the other kind he liked. Thankful to find this dust for him, since it’s an important part of a chinchillas life!

Blue cloud dust is the best you can get for your chin. It's very, very fine and not sand-like at all. My chin had a problem where sand from regular dust would scratch her cornea and leave her with eye problems. It also makes her coat so downy and she would roll in it all day if I would let her. It's worth the few extra bucks; she loves it, I love it, we all love it. And it's easier cleaning to boot. What more can we ask for? :)

Good value for the size jar. I researched a bit online before settling on this item based on review rating and price. It is the first and only dust product I have purchase, so i can't compare it to other brands. What I can observe from my 1-2 year old chinchilla using it is that, as soon as I put him in a large enclosed plastic storage container with a lid top (to minimize dusty mess to the immediate area), he starts doing his cleaning routine. But this only lasted a few short minutes, not the 15 -30 minutes that I have read about online by other chinchilla owners. Anyway, the first time I used it, I noticed that it had sparkles in the dust, which does not affect the chinchilla, but trying to sweep the floor where the dust settles outside the container after the dust bath session was not very effective. Definitely had to resort to wet paper towel to get the clean up job done right on wood laminate surface. After use, the dust will get everywhere the chinchilla goes in the cage too.

This chinchilla dust is excellent for keeping my chinchilla’s fur soft, clean, and healthy. The powder is fine and fluffy, perfect for rolling around in, and it really helps remove oils and dirt from their dense coat. Super Sand für Chinchillas! Meine 4 Fellknäuel lieben den Sand und das Fell ist nach dem Baden unglaublich weich. Leider ist der Preis für 1 KG sehr hoch aber wenn seinen Fellknäuelchen etwas Gutes tun möchte lässt sich vom Kauf vermutlich trotzdem nicht abschrecken.

I initially hated this as my chins eyes looked irritated, however then realised my chin has had bits Sepiolota in his eyes and nothing to do with this product. I was a bit worried about the micro glitter in this stuff but have to say, since my original go to show dust is no longer available, this is the best product I have found so far. It makes chins coats look beautiful. Just very expensive, so unable to use much of it, however will continue to mix it with the sepiolota I hate to give my chins a mix of coarse and fine for optimal cleaning.
