Good product but some limitations
I bought this product to use on a sliding patio door. It is a well made product. However when I installed it as illustrated, when unlocked, the cable part stood out perpendicular to the sliding door creating a hazard and also looking quite ugly. So I had to fashion a bracket from a piece of scrap angle iron so that the cable part was installed parallel to the sliding door. This bracket also had a hole in the middle so that the cable part could be withdrawn away from the door opening when not in use. Once this was done, the lock did its job perfectly.I know this sounds very confusing but unfortunately there is no way I can attach a photograph or a drawing here to illustrate the bracket I made. But I wish the company had provided this kind of bracket with the lock as it makes using the lock more practical. Also note The company provides only one key per lock so if you want a spare you will have to order two locks or get one cut. All locks have the same key.

I feel so happy that the windows are secure and safe. So strong and the kids are able to open their own windows in safety. have used on wood and PVC windows.

Brilliant product
These were quick and easy to fit, do the job well, and have lasted some time already without incident. What more could you want?!

Good Product
I bought two of these units in black to match my black aluminium conservatory. They are used to restrict the opening of two top hung full height windows so that my grandson (21 months) can't fall out. I tried other types of restrictor but they couldn't be fitted to such tall windows.Fitting is very easy. In my case, I screwed them to the opening part of the window and the floor but I could have fitted them to the frame instead. I would recommened that you fit them to the window first and then the frame so that you can check how much movement you need. I set the maximum opening to 100mm which is the BS standard for children.A word of caution. As a security feature, the units come with one-way 'clutch' screws which, once fitted. cannot be unscrewed. My instructions specifically said to use some ordinary screws initially to make sure that the unit is fully tight before removing the normal screws and inserting the one-way screws. I see from other reviews that some people didn't do this and came to grief. Finally, I actually didn't bother with the one-way screws at all since I don't intend to leave the house unoccupied with the windows open. (There is no way a child could remove the normal screws unless he or she was adept with an impact driver)
