FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer Machine, Automatic Bag Detection, Sous Vide Friendly, with sealer bags, roll, handheld vacuum sealer, black

We have had and used a FoodSaver for the past 20 years!! That OLD machine was nearing its end, so I purchased this new FoodSaver to replace it. BAD IDEA!!! It has worked ok for the first 4-5 months, but now it only vacuum and seals when it feels like it. I'd say it would work correctly 1 out of 6 times. So since this is still within the usual one year manufacturer warranty, how do I get this replaced or a refund? It was purchased on Nov 19, 2024, and isn't even 8 months old yet. We never bought the extended warranty, because our original one we had for 20 years, it proved that this is a good product. Well that ship has sailed. Unfortunately this product isn't worth the power to blow it to pieces. SO..... DO I GET A REPLACEMENT OR A FULL REFUND???? Don't keep me waiting!! Thank You!!

Broke quickly does not hold a seal anymore

Bought this for my husband for Christmas and returned it a few days later. It never once worked properly. Although operation seemed fairly simple and obvious, we assumed it was user error so we watched several product videos. Nope, we just got a lemon. Very disappointing because I see similar reviews of all other products of this type, and I'm probably just going to abandon the idea and continue to wrap things in cellophane like in olden days.

We had a Food Saver Vacuum Sealer for 15-20 years. It worked very well! After we finally wore it, out we purchased this new one. We used it a few times and it worked ok. Not as good as the old one, but ok. Went to use it today and after working for 2 bags, the suction would no longer work. Tried all the troubleshooting suggestions. Still nothing. Thankfully, we were still within the return period by one day. Sending it back for a refund. So sad how quality of products has gone downhill over the years!!!! Will probably try another brand.

UPDATED: replacement failed after two uses!! My machine quit keeping a vacuum seal after one use! This unit was a replacement for another I had for 3 years and it finally quit holding the vacuum seal and let ice form inside the bag while in the freezer. The new one I bought at the end of January 2026 and now after the second and third use it won't hold the seal. It seems to work and then within a few minutes you can see air in the bag and no matter how I adjust the contents, the bag placement, nothing works. I am in the lengthy process of filling out a warranty claim after two months of three uses total and the amount of information and pictures they want is ridiculous! It took an hour to take pictures and find all the hidden information they ask for! They want a number of a prong of the plug! I just hope they stand by their 3 year warranty.

Junk. Would not vacuum seal. Worked 1 time out of multiple attempts. It acts like it’s gonna work and then it just kind of does nothing and there’s air in the bag and it either seals it with air in the bag or doesn’t seal it at all. Going back to using freezer bags. Very disappointing product. And this was the brand that everyone recommends. What a joke, do not buy!!!!!

So, when it finally gave up the ghost, I embarked on a mission to find its worthy successor. After much research, I settled with this vacuum sealer that promised advanced features and enhanced convenience. Unfortunately, my experience was far from perfect, and ultimately led to its return. It included an assortment of bag sizes, and I liked the integrated bag storage and cutter bar. These convenient features definitely felt like an upgrade. However, unlike my previous sealer, which operated with a simple button press, this model required a latch to be locked. And to me, that latch was surprisingly difficult to engage. The pressure required felt excessive and raised concerns about long-term usability, especially for those like me who have less hand strength. But the real disappointment came with the machine's primary function: creating a vacuum-tight seal. Eager to put it to the test, I vacuum-sealed several steaks. Initially, the process seemed successful. The machine whirred, the air was extracted, and the bag appeared securely sealed around the meat. Then, the very next day, I discovered the sealed bags had failed. The bags were no longer sealed around the steaks, but were loose. Not only was the bag no longer vacuum-sealed, but the seal itself was opened in some places along the seal line. The promise of long-lasting freshness was irrevocably broken. I had invested significant time and effort in researching and selecting this vacuum sealer, and I thought I was getting a good valuable product for the price point. This experience highlights the importance of functionality over flashy features. While the built-in storage and cutter bar were undeniably convenient, they were ultimately overshadowed by the machine's core flaw: its inability to create and maintain a reliable vacuum seal. Ultimately, the difficulty in locking the latch and the failure to properly seal bags rendered this vacuum sealer unusable for my needs.

I bought the Foodsaver Vacuum Sealer Machine with Automatic Bag Detection, Sous Vide Friendly from Amazon 4 MONTHS ago and paid $155.90. It stopped working 1 month ago by not extracting the air from properly-sealed manufacturer bags. Contacted Amazon which directed me to Foodsaver's Warranty Department. I tried for weeks to get a response from the warranty department for the product which had a 3-year warranty. I jumped through all their hoops multiple times by providing the hard-to-read model number, date code on plug, and taking numerous pictures of the receipt, imprint of the model number and plug's date code, the outside of the unit with my name and date posted nearby, the inside of the unit with the defective vacuum sealer--all of which had to be converrted to jpeg from heic to upload to the company. I wasted my time. I was told in an email from the warranty department, which ended up in my spam folder, that "based on the information provided, your request is determined outside of the terms of the warranty." They gave no indication of the reason why my claim was denied despite the fact that it stopped working after 3 months and was purchased December 21, 2025.
