Visual Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs Review: highly recommended. - beautiful detailed pictures with good info. its a thick book. I got it for my dino crazy kid after prying the libary copy out of her hands. All the kids look at it every day even after a few months of ownership it still fasnites them. I recommend this book for all ages. Definately a must have for any interested in dinos. we've checked out many books from the libaries but this one is by far the best. Review: Perfect for aspiring young paleontolgists - tl;dr- This book may be small, but it's perfect for little hands to carry around. The text is advanced for pre- and emergent readers, but the plentiful pictures make this little (thick) book accessible to dinosaur aficionados of all ages. Highly recommended for any budding paleontologist. We purchased this book a year ago for our kids (then dd was 6 and ds was 4). I was a bit surprised by the small dimensions, though it is a very thick book. The first few months, our kids took it outside to use as a field guide for their "dinosaur expeditions." It got lost during a particularly engaging afternoon, and was slightly damaged from morning dew when recovered a week later. The fact that it was still quite usable is a testament to the quality of materials used to make this book. We bought a second copy so that each kid would have their own, and once again the small size proved an asset. They were each able to carry their book and and a steno book in their little backpacks during several visits to the dino exhibition at our local science center. By that time, they had memorized the page numbers of their favorite dinosaurs and had no problem finding the pictures of the dinos on display. The text is a little advanced for the pre-k through 1st grade crowd, but it's in small snippets that aren't too onerous for an adult to briefly read aloud. Not really a storytime book; it is an encyclopedia after all.

Fabulous book
We saw this little book at the Journey Museum in Rapid City, SD and knew we had to have a copy. They didn't sell it, but Amazon did! The book includes just about everything a person (young or old) could want to know about dinosaurs, and the graphics are second to none, IMHO. The cover dimensions are small, but don't be fooled - it is about three inches thick!

Want to be a knowitall about dinosaurs?
Although this is a small book, it's thick and chock full of dinosaurs. What's really great is it isn't jut you t-Rex and raptor stuff it's much more in depth. There are plenty of ones you probably have never even heard of, let alone have facts about their size and qualities. This book is more suitable for older kids but one to read at bedtime until they are older Lots of stuff very hard to find online easily.

All I can say is WOW
This book was received in great time, and is a virtual wealth of information. The information, and information in this book is absolutely priceless, I encourage parents to get this for their children, as it will surely make good reports in the students later days in school. I assure you, you will NOT be disappointed. The pictures of the dinosaurs are fantastic. Two thumbs up!!!

AWESOME for any kid who loves dinosaurs
So my son was just turning 3 when he fell in love with this book from the library. I had to buy it for him and it is still one of his favorites almost a year later. He loves to see all the pictures and names of the dinosaurs, and as he gets older I'm sure he will enjoy learning more about each one. A must for any dino-lover.

A HUGE Hit
Purchased this book for my seven-year-old son. Althought it's not specifically a children's book, it was PERFECT for him because it has so much information on each particular dinosaur--a page or two on each. It is now so worn from use that I may be buying another copy. By far his favorite dinosaur book.

Colorful and Full of Facts
My daughter wanted this because she is so amazed with dinosaurs. She has carried this book around everywhere she goes. The graphs and charts inside are so colorful and well made. I caught her sleeping with it on her pillow the other night. Very nice book!

I lost the book I bought in Singapore and was surprised to see the same available online. Very good book on the evolution of our planet and life, not just the dinosaurs.

As with all Dorling Kindersley books, it is well designed, clear and easy to understand. A lot of thought went into this book, it's a convenient size and all the right kind of information that kids just can't get enough of. This is a good buy, a book that will be kept.
