MAXSafes Dehumidifier Rod/High Power (18in)

I use this for dehumidification of my stored 3d filaments. PLA, PETG, and ABS. It keeps the cabinet shelf consistently slightly warmer and keeps humidity about 10-12% below the rest of the house. Seems to work on my printer with few adverse issues.

Shorter in length than dehumidifiers I’ve had but seems to work fine in my large safe. Looks well made and produces plenty of heat.

I finally got tired of constantly recharging silica packs in my gun safes. This rod solved the problem instantly. I was a little worried at first because my safe is waterproof and bolted down, but the cord fits right through the door without any damage or gaps. Be sure to read the product description—these rods cover more area than you’d expect. I’m using the small size in a tall safe and it works perfectly. The built-in “feet” keep the rod from touching the walls or door, which is smart since it does get warm. The slim design feels sturdy and well-made, and it’s been a huge improvement over the old recharge-the-packs routine. Highly recommend.

I use a larger version in my safe and should of used that same size in the chest but it does what it's suposed to do, get hot. as with the larger one you don't want to touch it with bare hands it does get hot.

These get considerably hotter than the 7w version, just plug & play. Make sure you put them where you want them before plugging them in. They do heat up quick! Same size, perfect fit, only had for about a month & working great! I am using two of them to keep my battery compartment warm on my trailer during the cold months. Don't use a ton of power but put off good heat! Add a small 2.2w usb fan & the compartment has stayed nice & warm! No worry about it getting below freezing so far. Only had them a month if that, no problems!

Working great

I placed one of these in my gun safe about six months ago. My med/large gun safe is located in my basement and I have always had to keep close watch to make sure my guns didn’t pickup rust. Now, the safe is pretty stable at 30% relative humidity. It took a while to drop that low as it is an old safe and has been in my pole barn and basement for over 15 years. With its detachable plug it was very easy to install, just drill a hole for the cord and attach the plug and it’s good to go.

I had tired using rechargeable silica canisters over the years for my gun cabinets but we live in a humid area and they simply did not last long. I finally bought two of these rod type dehumidifier's and now realize that I should have gone this route years ago. These are far superior as they raise the ambient temperature in the cabinets just enough to keep the moisture out. You don't have to check and re-oil your firearms as frequently as this rod is always working. You do need an outlet close by but that is easy enough to install one if you need one closer to your cabinets. These rods are lightweight but seem quality built and even have the mounting hardware included. They are a great value for protection of your valuables.
