Checks almost all boxes
The 109 Pro has earned accolades and well deserved. This is quite possibly the most versatile headphone I have used but for a small exception I'll address latter. Are they the best sounding headphones? No, but they can certainly play among the big boys. As has been noted by many reviewers, thee 109 will play well with almost any genre of music. This alone places them singularly among many other headphones including some really nice and expensive legacy models. I know, I have quite a few in my irrational collection. Clarity in abundance, spacial cues are as good as it gets sub $1k. Bass is just right, Mids are perfect yet strangely, there is a slight warmness to the sound that is not too off putting. I cannot stand muddy, warm headphones. I will keep these yet have sold off way more expensive headphones. Most headphones including expensive high end one's will usually perform better in one type of music vs another. HD800s for example is unbeaten in cinematic scores and instrumentally complex recordings. Same for the Hifiman Arya. Audeze headphnes are eye wateringly extraordinary provided, you equalize them. The 109's are generally good at everything. Fit and finish is easily one of the best I have owned and I do have a ZMF Atrium which may be the only one that can do everything better but I could buy three of these for the price of one Atrium yet it's not three times better. Now, everything isn't perfect. Sensitivity can be a problem as these are clearly designed to be very sensitive for portable devices which may cause problems for highly resolving desktop amps. You will definitely need a wide range gain control under these circumstances or else you run the risk of experiencing noise or distortion. There's a reason high end headphones tend to be high impedance. A perfect example is the dongle dac, Dragonfly Cobalt. Connecting these and adjusting the volume on a PC using a scale of 1 to 10 I can't go past 3. Very little volume swing available. The 109 makes the Dragonfly sound like a 12 watt amp. So, while these headphones scale very well and are useful for any musical genre, they aren't so versatile with higher end gear unless they have a good gain control option. You may find the best option on higher end amps is using the IEM jack. Admittedly, this won't be a problem for most users. One additional suggestion, I don't want this to be a criticism of the headphone itself but the supplied cable, while good general quality does have it's limitations. A cable upgrade is recommended. It will remove some of the dark hovering effect and bring out better clarity. Then again, cable upgrades do make a difference if you can stomach the cost. That's why manufacturers like Meze design cable swapping options into their headphones. Don't spend huge amounts chasing perfect headphones. Just buy these and call it a day.

Pure Bliss
These headphones are beautifully crafted. And sound just as wonderful as they look they are super light. It does not feel like you’re wearing anything compared to other headphones of the same size.

Right container/instructions, etc. WRONG headphones.
I received my order a few days ago and wondered why I could not wear the headphones for long without discomfort. The sound was okay, but not brilliant. Today, I checked the headphones over and went to MEZE website.Inside the hard-shell Meze storage box, I had received THESE.When I had opened them I did think "These do not look like walnut, but a plastic" but thought the walnut must have had a plasticizing coating on them. Nope.I am having to return and replace. Someone switched the headphones inside the box for a much cheaper set.Did I receive a 'return' from someone who had switched the headphone brand for a cheaper version, or is this seller creating a scam here by doing the same thing?Amazon customer service have been very helpful on the return and replacement of these.DO check your headphones out when they are delivered.Amazon delivered correct headphones. These came sealed in their box. They are so comfortable and the sound is lovely!

Endgame Headphones from an Audiophile
I could make this review super long but essentially I was looking for an upgrade to the HiFiman Sundara. I specifically wanted something open-back but very comfortable. The sound is of course subjective but it's my favorite of the many pairs of all types of headphones I own. What I like:- Build quality - haven't seen a headphone with a better build and attention to detail- Sound quality - it is extremely detailed, has enough in the mids without sacrificing low-end, and no sibilance.- Materials - it looks and feels like a high-end headphone.- Comfort - these just disappear on your head. The clamping force is just perfect and with the low weight, I literally wear these for 10+ hours a day while working. I never need to readjust or remove them or experience any hot spots.- Cables - you got two quality cables. One long, one less long. I wish they included a balanced cable too but I'm happy with the selection.- Amazing Hard Clam Case - this is a perfect travel case to protect your investment. It doesn't feel cheap and feels handmade, like the headphone. What I Don't Like:- One of my cables 3.5mm end started to fall apart after a couple days. I guess there wasn't enough glue. I reached out to support/warranty at MEZE and didn't get any response from them. That's worrying.... luckily I was able to fix it with some superglue.

The good and the bad
I would recommend this headphone to someone who enjoys orchestra/classical or other forms of "analog" music. It's a very musical headphone and not the most technical and seems like they would really make that type of music sing. The bass is there and is decent especially for an open-back.However, there is a lot of obstruction in the "open-back" and can be heard if really listening for it. Not the best headphone for heavier rock music or electronic/hip hop. The bass is there and suffices but isn't truly on that level. The natural and musical sound is also not a good fit for that type of music. So a good option for a certain customer, but otherwise meh especially for the price.EDIT: Added a star after further burn in. They are definitely getting better. Still very meh at my usual genres of music, but excellent at softer more musical genres like classical, jazz, etc. Listening to electronic artist Emancipator is a real treat. However the price holds it back as well as the fact that it's a more natural, smooth, and musical headphone geared best for lower volume listening.
