The shower drain snake comes equipped with a 5/16-inchx 25 ft. Black Oxide Drain Cable with Bulb Head, and can be used in up to 3-inch pipes with the removable inner drum that accepts up to 3/8-inch x 35 ft. cable.

**Q: Can you put tips on the snake?**
A: Raymond G Merrill.  Hello and thank you for your question.  Not on the cable that comes with it. However, you can purchase other cables for it that do allow tips.

**Q: Can this be used for toilets?**
A: Yes it can. I have used it on one of my toilets (that the kids use mostly) several times.
Remember it is a manual feed. Which was not hard to get around the trap.
I have used several other snakes and this one was by far the easiest to use on the toilet.

**Q: Does it auto feed into and out of the pipe? Or is it manually pushed in?**
A: It does not autofeed in or out. They say a newer model may have that feature. Mine is one year old and it is manual feed.

**Q: Does this have feed and retract like the corded Rigid version or do you have to do it but pushing and pulling the cable?**
A: No, you have to push and pull cable.

I have used an electric ridgid the last few years. It always got the job done but the outerspinning drum made it awkward to use and painful on the arms. I open drains for a living. From lav drains to storm drains. From cable to hydro flushing. I typically use the 1/4" cable 3 to 4 times daily. I was the first one in my company to take a chance on the battery operated drain snake. I absolutely love it. I've used it for 3 months now and it is so much better then the electric. It is powerful enough to get through the heavy scale that can be extremely difficult to get through. My favorite part about the tool is being able to set it down on the customers counter next to the sink and run the drain. Only the inside spins. I keep 50' of 1/4" cable in it at all times no problem. This type of machine is the future. My coworkers are jealous as well.
