The Original Bernardel Rosin For Violin - Viola - Cello

This is the only rosin I use! Its sound is so incredibly smooth compared to anything else I’ve tried. It makes string crossings easier and cleaner. I’m a professional who plays in a symphony, and it’s delicate enough to handle pianissimos beautifully. I also improvise and play bluegrass and it sounds great chopping and gets loud without being crackly. This is hands down the cheapest way to greatly improve your sound quality. This rosin worked very well for me when I used it. I've had it for 4 years and it hasn't broken. I used to live in a high humidity climate but since I moved to a low humidity climate the rosin no longer performs as well. I purchased a dark rosin and it is much better for low humidity. For high humidity climates, I would highly recommend this rosin,

Beginner here, and guilty of reaching for the rosin every time my bow scratches. Since switching to this, I have found that I need a lot less -- and the scratches are usually better addressed through posture. Since it makes less dust, my violin is cleaner and the strings are less mucked up in rosin. I practice about 1+h/session, sometimes several sessions a day and I found that I only need to roisin maybe twice a week or so. Big, big improvement. My teacher's face light up when he saw it -- he had been giving me a hard time about the roisin dust emanating from my bow. A very inexpensive way to do better, and it's pretty enough to gift to the violin player in your life.

After growing to detest my old rosin, I decided it was time to kick it to the curb. A friend told me about this rosin and said she really liked it. I can’t believe the difference. Almost no squeaking, good grip, nice tone, and very little dust left on the instrument. You won’t regret this purchase.

I recently started playing a violin again and wanted to try a higher quality rosin other than the cheap variety to see if there was really any difference in tone. Although I play on a student violin with steel strings, I did immediately notice a significant difference. It wasn't a mind blowing difference, but it was enough to make this purchase worth it. I may still be a beginning violin player, but I've been a guitarist for years and know the importance of tone and have well trained ears to know notice the positive and negative changes in sound. With this rosin, I noticed my bowing got smoother, it got rid of some of the annoying upper harsh end, and some of the scratchy noise and squeaks from playing. It's packaged nicely and look professional. I would recommend getting this rosin as it's an expensive solution to achieving a better tone. The only other option other than replacing your violin for better tone is getting a better bow and a better rosin. This rosin will fulfill one of those roles. Of course, if you have bad playing technique it won't help you much there.

This is a very durable, and strong rosin. In my experience it spreads and applies well, the color is pleasing, fits and places will in my small case things. Overall it does what it should, and is a pretty good cost, to usage ratio. Also the cute little blue carrying case is fun.

Happened to find out theteacher is also using the same brand Rosin. Warm and better sound with the Bernardel Rosin.

I'm relatively new to the violin, but so far this is my third try at rosin. The first was a "light" cake and very hard. I had to re-apply after every practice. The second was a dark rosin. When I opened it, the rosin surface was very pitted and the rosin would flake off the cake in shards It must have been old. I should have returned it I suppose. This one was a big improvement. It is easy to use and applies smoothly and evenly. It does last longer on the bow than the first one. It doesn't create excessive dust. It is grippier than either of the first two. That will take a bit of getting used to, but I think I'll like it. Not only does it come attached to a microfiber cloth to make it easy to hold and wrap, it has a dark blue "velvet" pouch that is very pretty and adds another layer of cushion and protection.
