overall satisfied
I bought DT01ACA300 to replace the faulty DT01ACA100 for my desktop computer. The read/write speeds are impressive. It handles large files effortlessly and performs well even during heavy usage.Considering its performance and features, DT01ACA300 offers great value for money. It’s competitively priced compared to similar products.Overall, I am very satisfied with DT01ACA300. It meets all my needs and performs exceptionally well. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable storage solution.

exellent product
I bought this hard drive to upgrade my old one since the windows operating system inevitably bloats itself with updates etc. I had to clone the original drive, which I did with one of the free clone softwares you can find on the net.I used Easus. the actual transfer can take from an hour to several hours depending on your system. Full instructions are available on youtube. once cloned the drive was reconnected in place of the old 'c' drive. I found that on startup the drive was very slow, with programs seeming to take ages to come up, I thought there was something up with it. however, after opening all the programs once, each subsequent opening was at normal, if not faster speed. I realised that it takes a first session to re-establish the routes on the new hard drive to each program. So dont be put off by sluggish performance on the first try. since then it has run flawlessly, and at a great price.

Good value, but quite loud
It's one of the cheapest 3 TB drives on the market, and does its job well. It's big, and the speed is pretty standard. If you just want something to cram all your files on, this works perfectly, especially if complemented with an SSD for your most used programs and games. The only downside is that it's louder than any other hard drive I've had (which, to be fair, isn't that many) - I'd say it's about three or four times as loud as a WD Blue, for reference. Even through headphones (if nothing's playing), you'll definitely notice when the drive is reading or writing. However, I would still say it's worth it. It's not annoying, although it does take some getting used to, because at first you might think the drive is dying or something. As a reference, I bought this 17 months ago for £61.95. In that time, it has been powered on for 9,952 hours. It's still going strong with no SMART errors or weird behaviour. With sequential reads of 142 mb/s and sequential writes of 138.9 mb/s (at 62% full), it's a pretty standard speed - almost identical to my 1 TB WD Blue.

Very reliable drive - Smooth and quiet
This was purchased for my son as a Christmas present last year and the first drive was delivered by Yodel!!! who only posted it through the letterbox!!! despite Amazon packaging stating "fragile" as you can guess to my disappointment on installation it would not work and the drive was damaged internally from the drop by posting it through the letter box and it dropping onto a hard floor - Idiots!Amazon were great at replacing this but at the time it was frustrating and I demanded a different delivery company to which they agreed and the replacement was delivered as it should of been with a knock at the door.It has been faultless and the drive runs very quiet and smooth and has been in daily use ever since purchase, it also has a 7200 spin speed which is better than a 5400 spin speed and has a decent 32MB buffer. All in all very pleased with this drive which has been reliable without any faults.Service from Amazon was fantastic and the packaging was great just a shame the first delivery was with Yodel!

Great value but be aware:
I ordered three of these drives to retrofit into an Apple XServe. They work flawlessly, unlike most other consumer and enterprise drives, so big plus for saving money on KG ADMs.However, as has been noted before in the reviews, one of the drives I got was a rebadged hitachi and shows up as hitachi while the others are toshiba. This shouldn't have a real world impact but is definitely something to be aware of.They are also NOT 2TB, they are 1.82TB under GUID and MBR. Very sneaky Toshiba...Only time will tell of their reliability.

No complaints
Barely audible even sitting in my external reader on top of my desktop computer (although it's possible it's just emitting a steady whine above my hearing level, cos I can hear it spin down and up). I'm currently using it as a backup drive, and have written a mere 252GB to it so far according to stats, but it's performed that job well so far in the 9 months I've had it. It's due to shortly be replaced by a 3TB drive, since the sweet point has moved and in today's money I can buy that for twice the price of this, yet get three times the capacity, but I may still pull it into service to replace the old 320GB drive currently installed inside my desktop machine.I've not been able to test how fast it is yet, since I have it in an enclosure connected to a USB2 port, but it's speedy enough for me. It also runs quite cool - I could only measure a 12 degree increase above ambient after it was on for a couple of hours copying 88GB of data to it just now, and that's inside the small plastic box that is my dustproof HDD caddy with no ventilation, which impressed me.
