I really like this item. It looks nice, easy to clean, doesn’t stink. It works perfect for my needs, coffee grounds, fruit and vegetable peelings and egg shells that all go to the compost pile. I am one person so it gets emptied once a week. Seems pretty durable, fits nicely in a lower cupboard of my fifthwheel. It’s also very lightweight but stable.

This EKO Stainless Steel Kitchen Compost Bin has been a great addition to my kitchen. This thing is not only sturdy and looks good, but it's also super easy to use and clean. What I really love is the swing lid that stays up when you open it – a real handy feature when you're busy cooking and your hands are full. It's also mounted on the cabinet door, which saves a lot of counter space, and the size is just right for daily use without taking up too much room. The bin comes with a removable bucket inside, making it a breeze to get rid of the compost and clean it without any fuss. Plus, there's a spot for a deodorizer to keep any bad smells away, which has worked like a charm in my kitchen. No stink at all, which I'm pretty happy about. The stainless steel finish not only looks sleek and fits right into my kitchen but also means it's super easy to wipe down and keep looking nice. All in all, this compost bin is well-made, looks great, and makes dealing with kitchen waste so much easier and cleaner. Definitely a good buy if you're looking to keep your kitchen tidy and odor-free.

My husband did not want me to get this. He was concerned that it would not keep the odors in. However, being winter in New England, I still wanted to be able to compost yet did not want to have to go out to the backyard (we keep our compost bin far away) that frequently. I won and we gave it a try😊. It works great! Between how snugly the cover hits and the carbon filter it comes with not odors come out. The size is perfect for us - I went **weeks** without having to empty it. I was a nice surprise that it came with 30 liners! I have it hanging off the side of our stainless steel duel trash bin we keep in the kitchen. I love that there are two ways to open the bin. Flip up for a quick toss in; pull down when I need to push in lots of scraps from my cutting board. This makes composting so easy - no excuses anymore. The only problem is you will be trying to find even more things to compost. Luckily Alexia has all the answers. For the record - dryer lint works if it is from natural fibers, as does finger nails. Do not compost baked goods, meat, fish, or dairy. Enjoy stepping up for composting!!

Decided to participate in our county food composing program and this bin is perfect for use on our countertop next to the sink. Convenient disposal of food scraps especially with the two position lid. Design is sleek and fits the kitchen decor. Sturdy and seems to be durable. Has a carbon filter attached in the lid in a recessed area. However the filter did not fit tightly and we lost it in the second bag of scraps and did not realize until after we disposed of it. May try to get a replacement. Still happy with our choice of bin.

It’s really very attractive (see photos) and well-made! It is big enough that I put a whole chicken carcass in it. (I apologize to non-meat-eaters for TMI) It has two different ways to open the lid - by flipping up (second photo) or by pulling forward and letting it drop downwards (Third photo). I use the drop down most of the time, because that way you don’t have to keep the lid out of the way while you are scraping plates, etc. It has an inside bin that pulls up and out and this holds the 2.5 gallon BioBag perfectly. The pull out factor allows me to wrap the bag slightly around the inside bin to keep it from showing on the outside. Because of the possible odor issue, I prefer to change out the bag every other day, at least. Moisture builds up and I don’t like having to wash out the inside bin too often. This little bin is a very creative innovation. I HIGHLY recommend it!

A great product. Liners are included and fit inside the inner liner. Easy to hang under the sink. Charcoal filter keeps orders neutralized. Lid opens up or comes down in front to easily remove the inner liner. Stainless steel shell looks nice, and inner plastic bucket liner is easy to clean. This is working so much better than my ice cream bucket compost method I’ve used for years. Looks and smells better, easier to clean.

Though it also has the hooks to mount it to cabinets and such, it’s also the ideal size for countertop use in our kitchen. The design of the lid is clever and it opens 2 different ways which are both useful, depending on what we’re putting inside. It does a solid job sealing smells inside but we empty it daily so I haven’t necessarily stress-tested the odor-proofing or filter longevity. It was a little pricy compared to the plastic options I was weighing but ultimately this one being countertop has the advantage of blending in with our appliances and I only hope to need this one for quite some time.

This compost bin is a dud! Not good. The lid does not keep bugs out and does not control odors. The lid sits flush on top and does not have any friction rim or flange to create any kind of seal! This performed so poorly, there might as well have been no lid at all. Far worse however was emptying and cleaning the bin. The insert bucket is one piece and does wash out nicely with no ridges, folds or lips to clean. The problem is with the entire external housing. The steel outer skin has a molded plastic lining which fastens to the skin with cut outs for tabs to go into. These cut outs became a hatchery for fruit fly larvae literally shielding the larvae from sight and elimination! Days after I washed, dried, and set it aside for return, (without the removable liner) I could lift the lid to be greeted by a release of flies and if upended and banged, more larvae would drop out. In short it doesn't perform the needed function of a kitchen compost bin and it it impossible to clean.

Totally love this bin. Just perfect in the cupboard below where I prepare vegetables. Great quality.

Best food bin. I rarely write a review, but I’m so impressed with this, I am compelled to. I’ve hung on the door of a cupboard, so it is out of sight. Works brilliantly!
