Katadyn water filter BeFree 0.6 L

This water filter works really well! It filters water very quickly and effectively, and it's super easy to use, with clear instructions on how and where to use it safely. I've primarily used this in streams and lakes, and the water has consistently been good and safe to drink. It's also incredibly compact since the bottle can be flattened out (except for the filter itself). While the bottle feels a bit delicate because it's just rubber, I've had no leakage so far and have even dropped it a couple of times on hard surfaces without any issues. The only minor drawback I've found is that after filtering, the water can have a slight plastic aftertaste, which might not be pleasant for everyone. However, it absolutely does the job and is a reasonable price for the peace of mind it provides. Hope this helps :)

Got this for wild camping trips, this size is ideal for putting in a side pocket of your rucksack. Flow rate is amazing filled a 1 litre bottle in under 2 minutes. Being able to drink straight from the filter means you don't have to carry large amounts of water. Only downside is the filter only lasts 1000 litres but I might only have to change it once a year. Would highly recommend this for anyone who plans to go wild camping.

great, used it in the french pyrenesse - no issues, folds up easy. Sometimes would slip out of my bottle holder once it's under 3/4 full, so make sure it's fully in there! Overall great bit of kit and super durable/light

Handy little filter for emergency use. It does work pretty well, though is slow to filter stuff, but light enough to keep as a backup. Rarely used in practice but have had it a few years now and it's still looking good.

I am so pleased with this product. I can now walk for miles without the worry of running out of water. This has to be one of the best purchases if like me you're an ultra hiker!

Excellent 👌🏻 Even makes my tap water at home taste better by far. Used it on a hike and filtered water from a fast moving stream, and it was like bottled water. Highly recommend this product.

It filters water well, but the cap hinge snapped first time I used it. It’s a weak design. Without the cap, you can’t stop the bottle leaking when it’s in your bag.

Fan de randonnée, on s'en sert beaucoup. Idéal aussi en voyage. C'est très rapide, on met l'eau, on ferme le bouchon et on peu boire. Ça filtre directement.

I took this on a camping trip (paddling a river) and used it with river water. It took a few uses to get rid of the plastic taste, but after that it was like drinking spring water. And- I didn't get sick! My stomach flips very easily so I was a little scared to go somewhere and not carry clean water. This handy little bottle gets a 10/10 for that alone!

Den Katadyn BeFree Wasserfilter hatte ich beim Wildcamping in Norwegen dabei und bin absolut überzeugt. Der Filter ist sehr ergiebig – man muss erst einmal so viel Wasser filtern, bis er an seine Grenzen kommt. Für längere Touren ist das ein riesiger Vorteil. Obwohl das Wasser in Norwegen ohnehin sehr sauber ist, gilt für mich: Safety first. Mit dem BeFree hatte ich jederzeit sauberes Trinkwasser und keinerlei Probleme. Besonders praktisch ist, dass der Filter komprimierbar ist, wenn die Flasche leer ist. Dadurch nimmt er kaum Platz im Gepäck weg und eignet sich perfekt für Reisen, Trekking und Camping. Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist mega. Man bekommt ein leichtes, zuverlässiges und einfach zu nutzendes Filtersystem, das genau das tut, was es soll. Fazit: Sehr ergiebiger, kompakter und zuverlässiger Wasserfilter. Ideal für Wildcamping und Outdoor-Touren – klare 5 Sterne und absolute Empfehlung.

Great performance so far. Bought to replace a Salomon (made by Hydrapak) that clogged and refused to work. Not seeing this happening again.
