Was good until it wasn’t
I am giving five stars even though my item is faulty. I left it for 24 hours to settle. Set it all up, and it was amazing, I let it run for two hours just to make sure all was ok. I then secured my window fitting. I did have to cut the plastic down, fixed the hose in the window. Placed the machine on a rubber anti vibration mat. Everything was going well. No horrible noises, nice and cold. I then came back to a very loud rattling noise. I tried all the troubleshooting, still a noise. I removed the mat, still the noise. Not something I could sleep with. Without the noise the noise level is pretty good. I did find that putting it in silent mode really dropped the sound, but after about ten mins it ramped up again. I don’t think that is normal either. I have looked over some other reviews, and they to had the rattling issue. I guess I am just unlucky. I did want a replacement, but sadly none available, I was lucky to get this on Friday. Another point, the warranty. People saying it is not covered in the U.K. Yes it is, it was a bit of a faff, but I did get to the bottom of it. You are covered for 2 years. Just not on the normal Bosch site. You basically go through Bosch thermotechnoligy, you cannot call them, it is email only, you have to keep your receipt and if there are any problems you email them. This is the email [email protected] I have been in touch with them, so yes your warranty is for the uk. Unfortunately they said they could not help with a repair on my item. And I was to speak with the seller. So not sure what would happen if another issue came up. Very bizarre. An update on the warranty, I decided to speak to them again, to see if I could have repair instead of returning it, I was told they do not do repairs. So I asked what they do if a machine develops a fault. They replace them they said, or if none are available a full refund. Obviously that will be the option for many as they don’t have any. They couldn’t replace mine. Nowhere in my paperwork that came with my machine told any of this. Which I think is bad. The handbook is like a bible, and on the last page of the English section is a QR code, that just gives you a list of useless numbers, even though in small print it says for details of warranty. Maybe Bosch need to address this. But on the whole I loved the machine, and I am gutted that I now don’t have one. So sadly it’s being returned. I’ll just have to wait until I can source another one, and hopefully that works well 😢

Works well but noisy
This is pretty powerful machine. It was delivered fine and looks the part. Downside is that it is very noisy, I wasn't expecting it to be as loud as it is even on 'silent' and 'sleep' modes. It is also a very heavy piece of kit, it does move on wheels quite easily. It does cool down the air brilliantly though and has a number of settings which I haven't figured all out yet. Bear in mind you need to place this machine somewhere near a window or door for the duct to extract hot air to the outside. The duct hose reaches quite a long way but not up to the window in my lounge which is only small.

Great air conditioner, looks good too
Delighted with my Bosch air conditioner. Cools living room perfectly not too noisy you can still hear TV (you must expect some noise to enable it to cool room) looks good too. Easy to set up and use, only problem was exhaust tube was too short, I purchased extension.

Pretty sure I got sent a returned unit
I suspect the AC I received was a return. Some of the plastic wrapping on the unit was missing / looks to have been stuck back on badly, extra bits/manual not together neatly as you’d expect, and the panel on the top is lifted in a way it shouldn’t be. It doesn’t click back down even with force. Left the unit to settle 24 hours before testing it as I thought perhaps it was just not great packaging. The unit cools, and it does so somewhat well, however…the vent on the top doesn’t open/close smoothly, instead it jolts, and there is a grinding noise from inside the back of the unit which shouldn’t be happening. How do I know all of this is odd? My MIL has the same unit and and it didn’t arrive on this condition! Such a shame given the extremely inflated price! (This isn’t worth more than £350)

Worth it's weight in gold.
Cools the west facing bedrooms efficiently and relatively quietly and quickly. Heavy as hell so not hugely portable, but can be wheeled about once on the right floor. Some stupidity with timers and the remote control, if you turn it on at the unit the remote timer becomes an 'on' timer, on using the remote and it's an 'off' timer. Window kit is a waste of time, most windows are not sash in the UK so you'll need to by an adaptor. Don't forget the hose gets hot so you want as short a run in the room that you're cooling as possible.

I love it!
Th Bosch Cool 2000 Portable AC is brilliant! HERE'S WHY YOU SHOULDN'T GO FOR A CHEAP BRAND: I had previously bought a cheap one for sub £200. That was a waste of time as it sounded like a pneumatic drill and didn't give out anywhere near enough cold air for it - it struggled to cool the room down. HERE'S WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE A BOSCH: To cut through the confusing world of all the options out there, I just decided I would go for a reliable brand and spend considerably more money - Bosch was my choice and it has 100% been worth it. I only needed the smallest one as the room I want to cool down is quite small. It looks slick, it pumps out cold air in abundance. As air conditioners go it's quite quiet - I mean, obviously it does make some noise, but it's soothing white noise (a bit like the sound when you're on an aeroplane). If you want a reliably excellent portable air con unit and have the budget, my advice is look no further

Brilliant in the hot weather
I’ve given this 4 stars because I had to buy a window kit for the hose, the hose doesn’t stay attached to the back (I’m using duct tape) and it doesn’t seem to have a UK warranty. However, it seems to work well and cools the room down fast, so worth the money (if it lasts a reasonable amount of time!). It’s a good price compared to other options and a decent brand. It’s heavy (28kg) and I can’t get it up or down stairs without help so I’m using it downstairs. Overall I’m very happy with it
