Great bread proofer!
It is an amazing instrument helping me to start a sour bread starter and rising the dough after it is being mixed. To make a sourdough starter you need to keep the mixture of the flour and water in the constant humid warm temperature for up to 3 days. This genius instrument is exactly what I was looking for! It makes all the proces a joy ride. Have not tried it for anything else yet. The difference in the set temperature and the actual one (in my case*) is about 2-3 degrees in Celsius. So I need to set 2-3 degrees higher to what I require in order to get the correct required temperature inside of the "incubator"... After the dough has been mixed it is a great place to put your future bread to rise. Loving it! Makes my journey of making the sour bread a joyful ride full of pleasure. Genius!

It works for sourdough!
I'm delighted with this product. Having struggled to make sourdough bread in my cool house for months and months, I've just successfully made my first professional looking soughdough loaf using this proofer! It is very expensive but it did the trick and it folds away after use.

Temperature not very accurate
I use a thermometer (I've changed a few) to check the temperature and the is always 2-3 degrees difference, so not fully reliable (on the thermometer the temp is lower than on the proofer). Also, the cord is way too short and I always need an extension to use it comfortably.

Brod & Taylor Proofer
Brod & Taylor Proofer Is a game changer for me and my Sourdough Bread and Pizza, rolls and other items baked with Sourdough. My kitchen is cold so sourdough takes quite a while and now it rises a lot quicker with this Proofer. I absolutely love it. It is made well with good quality materials and best of all it folds away so doesn’t take up much space. In my opinion, well worth the money.

A decent all rounder for bread , yogurt making and a slow cooker appliance
Not easy to disassemble. Could have had a component to place over the sides to make them more ridged when assembled. Overall does it’s job. I specifically bought it for bread making and I’m very pleased with it. First class results every time

Game changer
If you make a lot of bread this is a must. If you just make the odd loaf then the cost may not be worth it. I can’t believe how quickly I can make a sourdough loaf. Because you can control the environment you no longer have to hang around for hours till it proofs. Check out Utube for detailed info. It also folds up into a flat pack for easy storage. Brilliant.

This is a great product! Yes, it is mostly plastic, but this is 2017, not 1957, and plastic has come a long way since then. It is sturdy, fits together well, and does several tasks wonderfully. As a slow cooker/simmer-er (not sure about that last word) it is fantastic! Get the sauces, chili, beans up to a boil, and pop them in this and your worries are over. No sticking, no stirring, just perfectly cooked dishes! Much better than I could do on the stove stirring every couple of minutes. As a bread proofer, it is a piece of cake. Place some water in the pan, (Which by the way, does not have razor sharp edges. I suppose if you pushed hard enough and went really quick you could manage to cut yourself, but you could do that with a piece of paper too.), drop the rack on, set your bowl or pan of dough on it, close the lid, and watch it go. You get a nice even rise with the drafts kept out by the fairly thick sides and top, and the temperature nice and steady (checked that with the infrared gun). You don't need to cover the dough either, the water in the pan it moist. Although it was unplanned, the yogurt making function has been the most common usage hereabouts. The booklet that accompanies it has a very good recipe/instructions for using "store" bought yogurt for the starter, and it works very well. However, using the starter from Cultures for Health, I found that you get a better result if you follow their (CFH) directions (different times and temperatures). One lovely thing is that CFH recommends keeping the milk at 160~180F for 30 minutes for thicker yogurt. Easy-peasy with this device. Get the milk to 180F, and put it in the proofer on slow cook mode. Here is one discrepancy if found: with the slow cooker temperature set to 195F, the highest the milk would maintain was 171F. (Monitored this with a ThermoWorks ChefAlarm). It was still within the range, so no problemo. Another thing of which I am unaware of the cause, is that the temperature of the yogurt culture when put into jars and the placed in the proofer, rises, even though the temperature of the interior of the proofer remains fairly constant. (I chicken out and drop the setting on the machine to compensate. One day I'll get brave and let it go, it works for the store bought yogurt, so maybe it's okay.) This is a great versatile product that uses less power than the maximum listed (checked that with an ammeter/watt meter). I am really, really pleased with it!

Buon articolo, ma forse un po' troppo costoso per la tipologia di apparecchio e i materiali utilizzati.

I've been using my proofer box for about a year now. I live in Arizona where it is air conditioned in my kitchen in the summer, quite cool in the winter as we rarely use a heater. Our environment is so dry that humidity and bread raising can be a problem. This folding proofer is fantastic. It has solved every problem I've ever had. No more guessing, no more hoping that my dough will rise properly. I don't even have to cover it with plastic wrap, the moisture level is absolutely perfect every time. I just set the proofer to 85, add some water to the tray, close the lid and begin mixing and kneading my dough. By the time I'm ready for the first proof, the proofer is exactly perfect and at the right temperature (I use 85 degrees F)and I place my KitchenAid Mixer bowl right in the box and close the lid. The box is plenty large enough to hold it - tall enough too. It will hold a 9x13 size pan, or three regular bread loaf pans - I love the generous size. The ONLY thing that I wish this box had was a timer to auto-shut off. I have forgotten to turn off the box a couple of times, but it seems like it doesn't really bother it. Once I left it on for three days! Haven't used it for yogurt or tempering chocolate.. but I use it so often for my breads that I never actually put it away! It has become a permanent fixture on my counter. It is right up there on my list of MUST HAVE's in my bread making kitchen... I can't imagine baking now without it. Worth every, single penny. I am a HUGE fan!
