One Tray, One Crop, One Less Gardening Headache
I've used a lot of seed-starting systems over the years, and this set solves one of my biggest greenhouse annoyances: too many little trays taking up too much shelf space. This kit includes full-size seedling trays, cell inserts, bottom watering trays, tall humidity domes, and LED light bars. I've been using smaller systems this season—some with 24 larger cells and others with 40 narrow cells—and while they work, I always end up playing greenhouse Tetris trying to fit everything on my shelves. These wider trays let me organize much more efficiently. My plan is to keep flowers in one tray and vegetables in another, which makes watering, labeling, and monitoring seedlings much easier. The trays themselves feel sturdy and well-made, which is exactly what I've come to expect from this brand. The domes are durable and don't feel flimsy or brittle. I was also pleasantly surprised by the LED light bars. Each tray includes two long light bars, and even after seed-starting season is over, I can see myself using them for medium-light houseplants. One thing I actually appreciated more than expected was the extra-tall domes. Technically, humidity domes should come off after germination to help prevent mold and damping-off issues. But I often use large plant labels, and standard domes barely leave enough room for them. The additional height gives everything a little breathing room. In drier climates, I could also see gardeners keeping the domes on longer with the vents fully open. The biggest downside is storage. Once gardening season ends, those large domes take up a fair amount of space. I still haven't figured out where I'm going to stash them this winter. I recently used these to start a backup crop in case weather, rabbits, squirrels, or general garden chaos wipes out some of my plants later in the season. The cells hold a generous amount of growing medium, and planting an entire tray was much faster than dealing with multiple smaller setups. Overall, this system makes seed starting simpler, more organized, and more efficient. For anyone who starts a lot of seedlings each year, that's a win.

Medium thickness, good quality
These 1020 trays are exactly as expected. They are of moderate density and thickness, and the plastic is sturdy enough that I expect them to last through several seasons of use. This is my second year of raising flowers from seeds, and I went a bit overboard with how many seedlings I planted. I have another week or two before I can safely plant everything outside in my area, so I needed them to make it easier to transport all the pots outside to harden them off. They’re big enough to hold various sizes of pot- I use them primarily for 2” and 4” pots. For those, they are plenty deep enough to carry without the pots flipping over the side. There is still a bit of flexibility to the trays, so definitely carry them in a way that best distributes the weight. So far, I’ve had no issues at all with cracking or buckling of the plastic. One of the other things I’ve been bottom watering quite a bit, and one of the things I like about these trays is that the grooves in the bottom are deep enough (with no drain holes) to allow excess water to go below the bottoms of the pots, which keeps their roots from staying too wet if they don’t take up all the water. I’ve had no issue with these- the 10 pack provides a lot of space for individual pots (depending on the configuration of your cell trays, they may or may not fit as well). The cost is comparable to similar products, and may actually be on the less expensive side for similar quality.

Domes fit well to lock in humidity.
With the higher dome, these are great for uppotting the seedlings. We use a different setup for starting seeds to save space, but these domed 1020 trays with the added height allow the seedlings to get bigger before transplanting. They’re also great for propagation. To do so, we snip the stem, add some growth hormone, place into rockwool plug and place in the tray with some water. They’re sturdy enough to place grow lights directly on the domes. But the trays aren’t as thick as some from bootstrap farmers. Functional domes interlock well with trays to keep in humidity. Great value for the price.
