Horse Racing 101: 150 trivia questions and answers on the basics of horse racing Paperback – 2 July 2011

As an avid lover of horse racing I was very excited to recieve this book, but less than 5 minutes spent looking at it changed my mind. On the introduction page the author says that he took all of the information off wikipedia...first of all why I am paying money to see information I can gather off a free website? and second wikipedia is not a reliable source to write your entire book from. The questions and answers were written in boxes not custom formatted to fit the responses because the long responses had the bottoms of words cut off because they were too close to the bottom of the box. This book was clearly not proof read AT ALL. Some of the questions make no sense at all and they had a lot of misspellings and grammar errors. My biggest problem with the book though is that some of the answers were just plain wrong. I have some prior knowledge of this topic and some of the answers seemed incorrect upon my first read, and double checking these answers with other sources confirmed that the answers in the book were incorrect. My advice is to not waste your time with this book. You cannot be sure how reliable the answers are for many reasons and are better off searching for the answers yourself in more reliable sources.
