I have been singing and playing piano for over 10 years now and wanted to be able to record myself finally on my computer. I wanted a compact setup with a MIDI controller to play piano and a connection for a microphone to sing while I play into Garageband on my Mac computer. It was tough to find both features at the price I wanted so I was quite pleased to find this unit. Setup was easy although downloading some of the free software you are provided took a little time but the included Sampletank software is quite deep and offers lots of sounds to use beyond piano. Great package here for the money and a nice all-in-one solution!

I am revising my written review below with an apology. This DOES work (despite my statement below). In fact, it works flawlessly as compared to another MIDI controller keyboard I have. My oversight was to expect that if you put batteries in and turn on the switch, it should at least light up. IT DOES NOT, unless connected to a computer with appropriate software (I've used both GarageBand and Logic ProX to good effect). Headphone jack still does not seem to behave yet. It would save grief if the instructions simply stated that if this is not hooked up to an iPhone, iPad, or computer, NOTHING will even light up when you turn it on under battery power. I sent the first unit back and received a second unit, but I suspect the first unit was just fine. The keyboard feel is wonderful... perfect amount of key drop and resistance. I was not (yet) able to make it work with the IK Multimedia software that they make available for free (not sure if perhaps that software is paired with the unit that I sent back). ORIGINAL REVIEW STARTS HERE (ignore the part about "it does not work." Had great expectations of a true 4-octave full size keyboard of minimal width (no "cheeks" on either side of keyboard), with great promised capabilities for Logic Pro X and great keyboard "feel." It has great keyboard "feel" and minimal width, as hoped. But it does not work. My unit would not light up at all under battery power, even though I tested the batteries (that came with it) to be good. Under USB power, it would light up and it would connect to my Logic Pro X on my Mac using its supplied cables, but then very quiet, extremely distorted sound was all I could get from headphones plugged into the unit. I could register and record MIDI actions on my Logic Pro on my Mac, but no sound came forth, either in playback or from headphones connected to keyboard. To check all settings, I used another MIDI keyboard (CME Xkey Air) to assure that all settings were correct and that I got proper sound, which I did. It was only the iRig Keys I/O that failed me. I spent more time than I liked trying to get it to work, and now it is going BACK!

I got this as a gift for my partner to use with their iPad because they had been playing with apps for months. They had actually around the same time ordered themselves a beat pad but this ended up being a much better product with both the beat pad and piano keys. They've now made a few mixtapes using this and really enjoy learning the software it came with. They had an issue with the software at one point but the customer service was excellent and it got solved right away. The tool is sturdy and looks nice also. I am so happy I got this after going back and forth on different models.

I generally like IK and had reasonably good expectations about this keyboard, but I was disappointed from the moment I pulled it out of the packaging. The body or chassis is a bit soft/flexible/pliable, and it would noticeably bend/twist/torque whenever I moved it around. I'm talking about normal use, moving it from one desk to another. It also seemed to lose the connection to my DAW one out of the three times I tested it, and the drum pads were next to impossible to trigger reliably, even with considerable and consistent force. The keybed is the only saving grace for me. For a mini keyboard, the keybed actually felt great, probably a top contender for the money. Otherwise, due to the build quality issues, I packed it up for return the same day I opened it.

I’ve been using this both for a secondary keyboard on live gigs connected to phone or iPad using either Korg Module or SampleTank. Works well but the gain is quite low sending to the main board, you’ll need to crank it up a bit to match another keyboard or pre-amp with your own mixer. Other than that it has great advantages, and love using it as a mini idea catcher while traveling. Great value in my opinion.

Nice little controller. I found the ADC to be very nice quality for the price range. Keys and knobs are decent quality. The whole layout and usability 4/5. 5 stars because this is a unique type of soundcard that is not really offered by anyone else. At times requires being turned off/on to reset the driver, like after a reboot.

Perfecto como teclado midi, el problema es que como interfaz trabajando con Ableton se desconecta constantemente, hay que estar configurando entrada y salida de audio cada vez... Lo mantendré como teclado y compraré un interfaz nuevo, suerte que lo compré seminuevo y me salió bastante barato, lo malo es que las licencias de todo el software estaban ya utilizadas........

If you use Apple Products and want some seriously easy plug and play, this is the device for you. I am an IK Multimedia convert - well built products and considered software with actual usability... you can even plug it into your iPhone with the cable supplied. No lag, on a 2012 MacBook Pro 2.6ghz with 16GB RAM - integrates perfectly for my uses with Logic Pro X - with some further investigation I will figure out the midi mapping... In short, I love it - it was between this and the AKAI for me and in the end, value won as you also have inputs so it negates the need for an additional soundcard - and all for under £200

Nessun'altra 49 tasti (non mini) è così compatta. Io la tengo sotto al display del pc per suonare vari VST. Quindi non uso le pile, si alimenta via usb. Ottima
