j5create Wireless Extender for USB Webcam, Microphones, or Speakers, Ideal for Streaming & Conferencing, No USB Mouse/Keyboard Compatibility (JVW120)

I have a new conference room, and the cable from the tv to the center console on the table was dead. I hunted around for a) wireless cameras (pretty expensive) and b) wireless USB extenders (not many, and not many reviews of those available). I have a Windows 11 setup. It's about a 15 foot distance, max.I had purchased J5 adapters before, so I gave this a shot. It worked out of the box--could not have been easier to configure (you just have to plug one unit in to the wall and the camera and then the other unit into a docking station). You wait for the lights to turn green, and it worked with no issues. We attached the transmitting unit to the back of the TV using velcro (it's pretty light). So much for the first day, but a really promising start.

many times need to plug and unplug to reconnect it

Works exactly as described perfectly! Unbelievable! Plug it and it just works. It passes the name of the connected USB device (camera) through to the computer for ease of use. I love it!I will consider J5 Create products more often.(I'm a commercial AV technician)

Works for webcam. Worked at first for my obsbot camera. It went to marginal performance after computer software update then no performance after another update. I suspect they did not upgrade the firmware and didn't really care about my problem. Had to purchase a simple webcam. This camera performed acceptibly

Using this in the CEO office for a small business and has caused me nothing but headaches. It never connects when the user plugs in and it never works as designed.

Good product but only suitable with the j5 creative accessories

I've been looking for a wireless webcam solution to capture video feed from about 30' away. The J5create Wireless Extender allows me to setup my broadcast mission control at the back of the class room without having to be tethered to the camera up front. The setup was quick and easy and the transmitter and receiver connected quickly. I'm powering the transmitter and the camera with a power-bank so I don't need to plug into the wall. There is a slight lag with the video transmission but it's within acceptable parameters. Very happy with this one.

If you've ever used an HDMI wireless extender you'll get the concept behind this product. It allows you to connect a variety of USB connected devices (eg: webcams, speakers, microphones) wirelessly. They give a distance of 82 feet (25 meters) and while I didn't get out the measuring tape during my testing that sounds about right. One thing about the range that needs improvement is that it seems very susceptible to interference. This is true for any type of wireless transmission/reception tool but this one in particular. The product description encourages you to use the transmitter/receiver 'in the same space' which means no walls or other obstructions. It also warns you of 'interference from other wireless signals'. My office has a big open floorplan so I didn't encounter any issues but my thinking is that if the product description is apprising you to the risk of 'unstable transmission and poor image quality'. Since wireless signals are literally everywhere circa 2023 this component of the setup clearly needs some work.That notwithstanding, a clever device with a number of uses cases. It needs a bit of refinement but with the limitations outlined above it's worth trying.
