This composter does the job for around 2 people. I cannot put all the scraps for the entire family since it would be too much to feed for one week. What I do is put some of the kitchen waste in the compost and others in the city compost bin. This is my winter bin to keep some worm alive when it is -30degree Celsius outside. During summer I have a bigger one outside that holds all the waste. For what I can put in it does the job really well and the worms are happy. One drawback is that the worms falls in the bottom bin , then every few days I need to put the worm back on the top ( as per documentation) . This mostly happens when you start your first bin. Happens less with 2 bins.

I ordered this product, what a surprise when I opened the box, there was coco coir all over because the bag was opened. This product has only 3 trays, not 4 like advertised. I ended up returning the product.

I've had this bin for a few months now, and it's nice, compact, easy to use, and relatively clean. If you're looking to get a load of worm compost within even two months, you might need to lower your expectations. It really is small. But it's a fun way to make compost indoors, especially when the weather starts to get cold. And I have two young boys, who find it hilarious and interesting! I started off with some red wrigglers bought at my local pet store, which probably only had around 25 worms (hence, the slowness). I now have no idea how many I have, it's been maybe 5 months, and I just added the second tray on top of the initial one. I still have not harvest the castings below, but I have the luxury of not being in a hurry. There's very little smell, as long as you add shredded paper on top every time you add food, and don't add food too quickly. As long as it's closed, I don't smell anything at all, and I don't get a ton of leftover liquid at the bottom either. Overall, love the product. I may contemplate getting a larger one in future but right now, that's just not feasible, and I'm quite happy with how this has turned out so far.

I recently purchased a Worm Nerd vermicomposting bin and have been immensely pleased with it as an addition to my greenhouse and garden. I'll start by saying the bin is incredibly well-made, easy to assemble, and keeps my worms very happy. It comes with 2 more stackable trays that hold a heaping amount of castings. Pretty nifty built-in aeration system beneath to ensure that the compost never gets overly wet or too dry, the drain holes make it easy to manage excess moisture, plus you have a tap and can collect the worm juice to feed houseplants or veggies. The plastic is also TOUGH, durable enough to keep out any pests or critters, which I have had issues with in other bins. Overall, this is an excellent product and has made vermicomposting a breeze, even my girlfriends 10 year old soon loves to help tend to the worms. Highly recommend! 🪱

Easy to assemble and instructions are good. The photo showing the thing assembled has the wire base upside down. LOL But, for a novice this would be a good way to start and determine if this is something you want to do. Totally my fault for not paying attention to the photo showing the dimensions! For a few dollars more I could have gotten one twice this size. The legs/base is too short to get a container under it to drain the liquid from the faucet unless you place it so that the faucet is out over the edge of a table or a taller base. The very short legs also make it more difficult to place each leg in a container of water and mineral oil to keep the ants out. (I had to use jar lids.) I'm in Florida so ants are always a problem, especially since I won't use anything toxic for pest control. (Terro Ant Control works in almost all situations.) I expect to move about 20% of my worms to this and likely keep it in the guest bathroom that gets very little use. It's small enough and lightweight enough that it should do well and be easy to keep. I'll keep shopping for a larger one to replace the old one I have on my screened porch.
